Hybrid one‐dimensional residual autoencoder and ensemble of gradient boosting for cloud IDS

SummaryThe distributed and decentralized architecture of cloud computing is important for a number of industries, including business, government, entertainment, education, and information technology. It facilitates a wide aspect of information technology, where the computing model is vulnerable to attacks or intrusion. For detecting malicious activities, a novel intrusion detection system (IDS) is required to be developed. In this paper, an enhanced synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) with a hybrid one‐dimensional residual auto encoder and the Ensemble of Gradient Boosting (1D‐RAE‐EGB) models are proposed for cloud intrusion detection. The proposed IDS resolves the class imbalance problem through enhanced SMOTE. In addition, noise reduction is accomplished with ID‐RAE, which minimizes the data dimension. Finally, the soft voting‐based ensemble classification model is used for attack detection. The ensemble gradient boosting model comprises categorical boosting (CatBoost), extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), and light gradient boosting machine (LightGBM). The ensemble model is fine‐tuned by reducing the number of parameters under fitting conditions since it is not compulsory to re‐adjust the weight values in a backpropagation process. The proposed IDS is implemented in Python using the NSL‐KDD dataset. The accuracy, precision, recall, f1‐score, false positive rate (FPR), false negative rate (FNR), specificity, and Kappa measure obtained for the proposed IDS are 99.98%, 99.3%, 98.5%, 99.95%, 0.723, 0.46, 99.98%, and 99.97%, respectively.

In the face of rapidly evolving technology and heightened global competition, fostering an innovation culture is paramount for organizations. Given the significance and intricacy of innovation management implementation, many researchers have proposed structured management approaches. This article offers a quantitative bibliometric analysis of these approaches using the Scopus and Web of Science databases. It examines the distribution of publications, key sources, interactions among sources, predominant approaches, and emerging research topics. The findings reveal that open innovation is the most prevalent approach. Furthermore, sustainability and information technology aspects like artificial intelligence, big data, industry 4.0, and digital transformation are notable in recent innovation management studies.

Technological progress towards digitization is now accelerating. In the current era of digitalization, most people have embraced a new lifestyle that is inseparable from electronic devices. The advent of the digital age has brought about many beneficial changes that can be fully utilized. Nevertheless, the emergence of the digital era has brought many adverse effects, thus creating new challenges in human existence throughout this period. The advent of the digital era has brought issues in various fields, including political, business, socio-cultural, defense, security, and information technology aspects. One of the purposes of the study is to manalysis of the influence of digitization on the metamorphosis of Malay culture in Petalangan, Indonesia. The investigation was inspired by the fact that people in Penang mostly ignored their traditional customs, which led to the identification of further goals in this area. Investigation of the current study This study uses qualitative techniques. This study was conducted in Petalawan village, which is located in the busy Pelalawan area of Riau province. In this particular study, participants used snowball sampling along with sample methods to collect data by observing individuals and conducting interviews. The data collected was analyzed using a specially developed interactive model created by Huberman and Miles. The result of this study is an understanding of the social dynamics of the Malay population of Petalangan, especially obtained from the digitization process. The digitization process has facilitated the emergence of new cultural expressions among the Malay population of Petalangan. Local artists and musicians can use internet platforms to disseminate their work, create music or art that combines traditional and contemporary elements, or innovate in fresh digital art forms influenced by their cultural heritage.

Determining the Availability of Continuous Systems in Open Pits Using ANFIS and a Simulation Model

This paper presents a model for determining the availability of continuous systems at open pits using the neuro-fuzzy system. The concept of availability is divided into partial indicators (synthetic indicators and sub-indicators). The presented model in relation to already existing models for determining availability uses a combination of the advantages of artificial neural networks and fuzzy logic. The case study addressed the I ECC (bucket wheel excavator–conveyors–crushing plant) system of the open pit Drmno, Kostolac. In this paper, in addition to the ANFIS model for determining the availability of continuous systems, a simulation model was developed. The obtained results of the ANFIS model were verified with the help of a simulation model that uses certain assumptions about the distribution of failures. This paper was created as a result of several years of field and theoretical research into the availability of continuous systems in open pits, and completes a cycle that consists of several published articles on the subject of modeling the behavior of these systems in real time using a time picture of the state, expert assessment, simulation and AI models, while respecting the multidisciplinarity of the problem (mining technological, mechanical, and information technological aspects). The developed ANFIS model is a key instrument for improving operational efficiency and resource management in the mining sector. Its ability to accurately predict the availability of the ECC system brings not only operational benefits through reduced downtime and optimized maintenance, but also a potential reduction in overall costs at coal open pits. Such an innovative model marks a significant step forward in the mining industry, especially when it comes to continuous systems in coal open pits.

Information Technology Security Audit at the YDSF National Zakat Institution Using the ISO 27001 Framework

In this era of cyber crimes, data security is an important aspect that needs special attention from an organization. This is reinforced by the ratification of Law Number 27 of 2022 on personal data security. The National Zakat Amil Institute (LAZNAS) Yayasan Dana Sosial al Falah (YDSF) as an institution with a legal entity and having data on more than 100,000 donors and partners, it also has an obligation to protect the personal data of donors and partners. The focus of this research is to evaluate and audit information technology at the LAZNAS YDSF, especially regarding the security aspect of information technology. Evaluations and audits were carried out using the ISO 27001 framework as a standardization of information technology security at the international level. In this study, information technology audits were conducted using quantitative methods. The assessment was carried out on seven main clauses that are priorities for the LAZNAS YDSF based on management priorities: compliance clauses, risk management, policies, assets, physical and environmental management, access control, and incident management. Data were collected using a questionnaire distributed to all the LAZNAS YDSF managers and employees. Fifty-five respondents, ranging from management to staff, were involved in filling out the questionnaire, ranging from management to staff. Based on the recapitulation of answers from respondents, it was found that the risk management and access control clauses had good results, with scores of 2,727 and 2,796. The compliance and incident management clauses have scores of 2.381 and 2.53, respectively; therefore, improvement efforts need to be made. By evaluating and auditing information technology that refers to the ISO 27001 standard, it is hoped that LAZNAS YDSF can protect and maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information, and manage and control information security risks.

The development of a new SOFI model for performance management of medium-sized and large companies

Measurement and adequate performance management of a company represent an imperative regarding the attainment of competitive advantage in the market. This need is especially pronounced in medium-sized and large companies, which represent complex organizations and require the application of scientific principles for solving complex issues in practice. Therefore, the performance management process in medium-sized and large companies is singled out as the subject of the research. It is important to point out that the main concept of the paper is the macro aspect of the performance management process. The primary goal of the research is the development of a new model for performance management based on considering all important parameters of business operations of these companies on the territory of the Republic of Srpska. The research was conducted via combined methods – a multiple case study which implies four companies and a survey questionnaire. Through the analysis of many models in the literature, seven were singled out which were studied further. The main elements and conceptual bases of these models served as the basis for conducting research and creating a new model for performance management. The result of the published research represents “SOFI” model (strategic, organizational, financial and information–technological aspects), whose application contributes towards easier management by managers, as well as making correct management decisions in the conditions of uncertainty.

Along with the decline in the covid pandemic in the city of Batam, the government has reopened the tourism faucet to the Batam area. The growth of tourist visits from month to month has increased. However, when compared to the level of tourist arrivals to Batam in the year before the Covid pandemic, it was very much different. Even though the government has improved tourism supporting infrastructure, service levels, better security conditions, the growth of visits has not met expectations. There is one aspect that needs to be developed, namely the aspect of information technology as a communication mouthpiece, travel guide and as an assistant in tourism travel. Information technology is able to solve existing problems in tourism activities in Batam City. For this reason, it is necessary to develop an integrated tourism portal between visitors, tour service providers consisting of the government, the private sector as tourism business managers in the city of Batam and other interested parties. The development of tourism portals is still individual in nature which is still not effective for visitors, because every visitor who needs information and tourism services must open various websites. Synergy Of Village-Owned Enterprises And Local Product-Based Umkm In Tourist Villages In Border Areas Indonesia - Timor Leste

The MSME sector is an economic milestone for villages in border areas. As one of the two countries' border crossings, tourist villages on the Indonesia-Timor Leste border have great potential in developing their business scale which can provide income not only for MSMEs, but for Border Village Original Income (PADes). However, the problem is that MSME actors in these border villages are still hampered in terms of capital, technological innovation, workforce expertise and marketing systems. On the other hand, the existence of Bumdes can be a solution to the problems faced by MSME actors. In this study, researchers will look for the root of the problems faced by MSMEs and BUMDes by conducting interviews with MSME actors, Village Heads and BumDes Management in 3 (Three) Border Villages, namely: Duarato Village, Tohe Village and Siwalan Village in Belu District. Then formulate policy priorities that must be implemented by the Village Government and BUMDes in order to move MSMEs through qualitative analysis techniques. The research results show that: (1) Business Environment Aspects; the importance of maintaining the surrounding environment so that it remains safe and conducive in supporting business development (2) Capital Aspects; access to capital from non-bank parties and from cooperatives to business actors (3) employment aspect; Local governments need to provide training facilities for workers. (4) Information Technology Aspects; every business actor has mastery of technology including mastery of banking digitization (5) Marketing Aspect; the importance of marketing training for business actors to maintain business continuity. The final implication of this research is the realization of BUMDes goals in driving the village economy. In addition, with the existence of the BUMDes program that supports MSMEs, it is hoped that it will be able to increase the business scale of MSMEs and Village Original Income (PADes) for tourist villages on the border of Indonesia - Timor Leste.

This article delves into various theories about fraud and their development, explaining why the theory of fraud is both broad and constantly evolving. The method used in this research was a literature study, referencing the period since the beginning of the development of the Fraud theory. Each theory is criticized for giving way to new variables, making the most appropriate contribution to scientific development, and explaining fraud prevention practices in companies. Research on fraud has been widely carried out both abroad and in Indonesia. The findings from this literature study reveal that fraud is inseparable from ethics. It is necessary to incorporate ethical elements into higher education curricula and to include aspects of information technology in theoretical models due to the increasingly advanced technological developments. A novel adaptive network intrusion detection system for internet of things.

Cyber-attack is one of the most challenging aspects of information technology. After the emergence of the Internet of Things, which is a vast network of sensors, technology started moving towards the Internet of Things (IoT), many IoT based devices interplay in most of the application wings like defence, healthcare, home automation etc., As the technology escalates, it gives an open platform for raiders to hack the network devices. Even though many traditional methods and Machine Learning algorithms are designed hot, still it "Have a Screw Loose" in detecting the cyber-attacks. To "Pull the Plug on" an effective "Intrusion Detection System (IDS)" is designed with "Deep Learning" technique. This research work elucidates the importance in detecting the cyber-attacks as "Anomaly" and "Normal". Fast Region-Based Convolution Neural Network (Fast R-CNN), a deep convolution network is implemented to develop an efficient and adaptable IDS. After hunting many research papers and articles, "Gradient Boosting" is found to be a powerful optimizer algorithm that gives us a best results when compared to other existing methods. This algorithm uses "Regression" tactics, a statistical technique to predict the continuous target variable that correlates between the variables. To create a structured valid dataset, a stacked model is made by implementing the two most popular dimensionality reduction techniques Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) algorithms. The brainwaves made us to hybridize Fast R-CNN and Gradient Boost Regression (GBR) which reduces the loss function, processing time and boosts the model's performance. All the above said methods are trained and tested with NIDS dataset V.10 2017. Finally, the "Decision Making" model decides the best result by giving an alert message. Our proposed model attains a high accuracy of 99.5% in detecting the "Cyber Attacks". The experiment results revealed that the effectiveness of our proposed model surpasses other deep neural network and machine learning techniques which have less accuracy.

Information Technology and its Role in Improving the Quality of Financial Control due to Corona Pandemic: the Jordanian Income Tax as A Case Study

Purpose: This study aims to examine the impact of information technology aspects and its role in improving the quality of personal income tax financial control in Jordan due to the corona pandemic Design/ methodology/ approach: The sample of the study consists of (166) tax auditors and programmers from the Jordanian Income and Sales Tax Department, and a questionnaire is prepared and delivered to the study sample to accomplish the study's objectives. Improving the quality of financial control for the Jordanian income tax, and the results also indicate that the region is not a modified variable for the function of technical equipment and software in enhancing financial control quality. Findings: As a result of the Corona epidemic's spread on the Jordanian income tax. While the area is a modified variable to reflect the role of networks and databases in improving the quality of financial control due to the Corona pandemic's influence on Jordan's income tax, the center has the biggest impact, followed by the north and then the south. Originality: This study extends the use of data science technology, big data, and artificial intelligence, as these are required and effective tools for enhancing the quality of financial control and contribute significantly to attaining the fundamental goals of containing, stopping, and controlling the epidemic.

Since the past, extension has been seen as a transfer of technology from researchers to farmers. Now the role of extension is seen more as a process of helping farmers to make their own decisions by adding choices for them and helping them develop insights into the consequences of each of these choices. The role of extension workers is clear in bridging and communicating government policies to farmers and business actors who are directly involved in activities to realize food security and independence by utilizing technology and information so that it is easier to get information from various sources that can be accessed using the latest technology and communication equipment. Farmers who tend to master the technological aspect are very dominant seen in those of productive age. The ability to perform good analysis and problem solving is generally often seen in those who tend to be highly educated. In terms of extension activities using information technology media, all farmer groups tend not to have a real role in their members. Almost all farmers have a long experience in farming activities, even though they have quite a lot of knowledge and experience, farmers still need renewable information. While farmers still need additional knowledge and renewable information through information technology media, quite a lot of farmers in Simalungun Regency do not master the aspects of information technology. The majority of farmers stated that extension workers are rarely or sometimes in the field, and extension workers never carry out face-to-face counseling activities or are carried out in the field. The new wave of AI-powered luxury brands online shopping experience: The role of digital multisensory cues and customers’ engagement

Academic literature retains a dearth of empirical evidence of the cutting-edge aspect of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered digital assistance and digital multisensory cues, despite the prospect of these factors on real-life customers' luxury brand online shopping experience. Thus, the aim of this study is to examine the significant pathway and effects of AI-powered digital assistance toward customers’ luxury brand online shopping experience. Drawing on S–O-R (Stimulus, organism, and response) and TRAM (Technology Readiness and Acceptance Model) paradigm, a multi-method research design was deployed to investigate constructs. Firstly, semi-structured interviews were utilized to explore customers' online behavior under the luxury brands and information technology aspect. Secondly, survey data were collected and analyzed by using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). The PLS-based analysis of quantitative data confirmed the exploratory insights of qualitative findings, establishing the connections of AI-powered digital assistance, customer engagement, and customers' luxury brand online shopping experience. Research findings also suggest that customer engagement plays a mediation role in the relationship between AI-powered digital assistance and customers' luxury brand online shopping experience. Besides, digital multisensory cues moderate the relationship between AI-powered digital assistance and customer engagement. Further, fsQCA complements the findings of PLS-SEM that reveal the significant combination of factors that lead to the perceptions of customers' luxury brand online shopping experience.

Perception of the Effects of Working from Home on Isolation and Stress by Spanish Workers during COVID-19 Pandemic

This paper tests the explanatory capability of the individual, organizational, environmental and job factors regarding Spanish workers’ perception of isolation and stress owing to working from home (WFH). We used a survey of the Spanish agency Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas on the Spanish population’s perceptions of several aspects of information technologies that was carried out in March 2021. Information overload, work overload and isolation are perceived to be the principal factors involved in WFH. Because WFH could be inhibit professional development, drawbacks in the infrastructure include overload and impediments to career development as the most relevant variables to explain the perception of isolation. Age and balance between family and work also have explanatory power, but less so for isolation and stress. While people with intermediate ages are less sensitive to isolation and stress, having a correct balance between work and personal life is a protective factor against these effects. From the results in this paper, we outline several questions that must be addressed by labour authorities via legal regulations and by firms and workers to adapt organizational and working culture to ensure the efficient implementation of WFH settings compatible with employees’ well-being.

Today, the development of information technology is very sophisticated in supporting the company's operations. It is undeniable that all companies take advantage of this technology, starting from service to customers to the company's internal operations. Water utility companies basically process raw water into clean water that is ready to be used for household purposes, industrial purposes, offices, and many other uses. Therefore, the processing industry is very much needed by the community. Moreover, it is state tax revenue in the non-oil and gas sector. Therefore, information technology is very necessary for controlling and operating at this water treatment company. Before implementing an information system or an ongoing information system, a guide is needed for implementing the system. All aspects of information technology that support the company's business serve as input in building an integrated system. Business process trimming is needed in order to build better performance. In terms of implementing enterprise architecture, the chosen framework is The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF). while the method chosen is the Architecture Development Method (ADM). The purpose of this research is to apply an enterprise architecture to a water treatment company to produce a blueprint and an IT roadmap within five years to provide the best service for customers. The focus of the discussion on Governance Implementation in this company's system uses Waterfall-based Project Management. By combining the TOGAF ADM Framework in the domains of Architecture Change Management, Implementation Governance, and Migration Planning with the Project Management Body of Knowledge Method, it produces new methods that complement each other.

MANAGING GREEN IT: A REVOLUTION FOR CRAFTING THE IDEA OF SMART CITY IN A DIFFERENT WAY

Green Information Technology (IT) denotes the policies and practices that firms should follow to manage IT operations to comply with green norms. Typically for a firm that mainly uses IT for its business, for mankind products or providing services, Green IT practices involve using IT in such a manner as to reduce carbon emissions or to use IT to monitor and manage carbon or other polluting emissions. There are mainly two aspects of Green IT practices: (i) Use IT efficiently to comply with green norms. (ii) Use IT to ensure other firm activities conform to green norms. Firms involved in making IT products or those who provide IT Services have to consider additional aspects of Green IT. The design of IT products follows Green Practices that includes designing both hardware and software. The IT artefacts produced in this manner are thus compliant with green norms, and the firms can assure their customers about the usage of environmentally sound processes. Usage of computers and networking technology requires energy both for making the device and running them. In recent years, as the usage of computer technology has grown in business, government and society, the consumption of energy has also increased. The government has recognized the threat of unrestrained and uncontrolled carbon emissions and has formed various guidelines to control emissions and pollution. Many firms have taken steps to understand their energy consumption patterns with regard to their IT usage and have implemented measures to ‘Go Green’. There are economic advantages of going green, in addition to those of acting responsibly. In this paper, the authors have explained how in the realm of IT, going green means using technology in an environment-friendly manner and using IT to control carbon emissions. The aim is to conduct a detailed study on managing Green IT and how smart cities can be crafted in a different way with the help of IT. An overall comprehensive insight is provided to deliver assistance for the development of advanced smart cities in the future.

The article considers the role of information technologies in accounting, reporting and management of business processes of business entities, focusing on the challenges and prospects of automation in these areas, the rapid pace of development of information technologies and their impact on optimization and problem solving in modern society. The current trends in the development and possibilities of using information technology in accounting and business management are analysed. The theoretical and practical aspects of information technologies, problems of their use are revealed and proposals on possible ways to solve them are formulated. The main advantages and disadvantages of using information technology and process automation are presented. Possible obstacles arising from the automation of business process accounting are highlighted, classifying them into four key areas: improving the quality of information, saving time and labour costs, efficiency and relevance of data, and strengthening control. The article highlights the main characteristics and features of an automated company accounting system in the context of global digitalization, which contribute to the establishment of an automated process of collecting, structuring and processing accounting data. Attention is focused on the use of remote technologies based on software and hardware solutions, and the advantages of these technologies, such as cost reduction, access from any device, and real-time synchronization of changes, are presented. Possible information security problems when using remote services are noted. Certain aspects are highlighted, failure to comply with which may lead to the risk of data loss, violation of their integrity and confidentiality, etc. Prospects for the development of artificial intelligence (AI) systems are considered. It is shown how the knowledge base and self-learning capabilities of AI systems can contribute to the construction of integrated management systems and solve problems of various aspects of accounting and management. Attention is paid to the problem of cybersecurity and the importance of computer security measures to prevent the risks of loss and distortion of information is emphasized.

Misalignment Between Business and Information Technology(It) Strategies: Risks Implication for Johannesburg Stock Exchange Listed Companies

This article examines some aspect of Information Technology (IT) Governance and highlights potential risks companies can possibly encounter as a result of misalignment between business and IT strategies. Using a five point- likert scale questionnaire and a convenient sampling technique, data was collected online from fifty Chief Information Officers (CIO’s) operating on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). The significance of this study can be viewed from two stand points- managerial and academic. From managerial standpoint this study examines the impactful consequences of misalignment of Business and IT strategies. From academic standpoint this study provides cognitive information for advancement of knowledge in the field of IT Governance research. The findings of this study revealed that from managerial standpoint there were various risks consequences associated with misalignment between business and IT strategies, ranging from management risks, operational dysfunctional of business processes, information security risks, financial risks, and reputational risks to companies.
