Preventing Digital Sexual Harassment: Strategies for Improving Digital Literacy An Islamic Education Perspective

Digital harassment is becoming increasingly widespread and has become a serious problem in the digital era, including among society, especially Indonesian society. harassment itself definitely has an impact on the victim, and it definitely has a bad and negative impact, both physically and mentally. Islamic education plays an important role which is expected to prevent digital harassment by instilling moral and ethical values ​​in society. In this research we aim to explain strategies for increasing digital literacy from an Islamic education perspective as a form of preventing digital harassment. Using qualitative methods and a literature study approach. We dive into various sources to provide various data, such as books, scientific journals, and online articles. The data analysis technique uses thematic analysis and content analysis. The end of this research shows that there are several strategies to increase digital literacy as a form of preventing digital harassment in accordance with Islamic education. First, instilling Islamic moral and ethical values ​​in every human being. Second, developing knowledge and skills about information and communication technology. Third, developing the character of people with good character and high morals. This strategy must be implemented effectively in the Islamic education process in schools as well as in the general public in order to create a generation that is responsible and has noble character in the digital era.

MENERAPKAN NILAI-NILAI PEMIKIRAN DEWI SARTIKA DALAM PENDIDIKAN MODERN

Dewi Sartika, a national hero of Indonesia, is known as a pioneer of education for women. Her thoughts on education are still relevant today, amidst the modern era full of challenges and changes. The values of Dewi Sartika's thoughts, such as noble character, intelligence, and independence, can be a guide in implementing quality and character-based education in the modern era. This study aims to identify the values of Dewi Sartika's thoughts on education and analyze their relevance in modern education. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a literature study approach. Data was collected through literature studies, including books, scientific journals, online articles, and official documents. The data were then analyzed using a descriptive-analytic method. The results of the study show that the values of Dewi Sartika's thoughts on education are still relevant in modern education. These values can be implemented in various ways, such as integrating moral values and noble character into the curriculum and learning, developing character education through various programs and activities, providing opportunities for students to learn independently and creatively, and utilizing information and communication technology to support learning. There are also challenges and opportunities in implementing the values of Dewi Sartika's thoughts on education in modern education. The challenges include globalization and the influence of foreign cultures that can erode local cultural values, a lack of awareness and commitment from various parties to implement character education, and limited educational resources and infrastructure. However, there are also opportunities, such as increasing public awareness of the importance of character education, the development of information and communication technology that can support learning, and support from the government and various parties to improve the quality of education. The article presents the results of a discursive analysis of online articles on foreign language learning. The analysis continues the study of the English popular science pedagogical discourse, complementing the number of already identified and characterized components with discourse strategies. The aim of the paper is to identify and analyze the strategies of the popular science pedagogical internet discourse which would expand scientific ideas about the interaction peculiarities between the pedagogical community and society. As practical material, the study uses one of the most famous English online magazines dedicated to language learning. By random sampling, 70 text fragments are selected from the magazine, exhibiting the whole variety of speech means the pedagogical community uses to cover its intentions and values. To achieve the aim set in the research, the authors use linguapragmatic, linguasemiotic, discursive analysis and descriptive, analytical, interpretive, statistical methods. As a result of the analysis, the strategies of attracting attention, modality, transmitting reliability, forming professional identity, solidarity, manipulation and consolidation have been established. Each strategy reveals its own means of speech implementation, among which we can name various verbal constructions, appealing constructions, constructions emphasizing causes and consequences of educational processes, evaluating lexemes, lexemes with semantics of inducement to action, etc. The range of communication strategies and means of their verbalization is not limited to those given in the paper. In order to describe the model of the popular science pedagogical discourse existing not only in the English internet space, the need for further analysis of the research subject is obvious.

The national rugby league and the Bundesliga: a study of brand hate

PurposeThis study examined brand hate within the context of the (German) Bundesliga and (Australian) National Rugby League (NRL). The study pursued two research questions: (1) What types of brand hate were expressed towards the Bundesliga and the NRL? (2) To what extent did hateful comments attract more likes than non-hateful comments?Design/methodology/approachBrand hate was studied in the context of competition restrictions in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We analysed reader comments posted below online articles published in three German (119 articles and 8,975 comments) and three Australian online newspaper articles (116 articles and 4,858 reader comments). The data were analysed deductively.FindingsNon-parametric tests found that all types of brand hate were expressed. Approximately 85% of the hateful comments were mild, or more specifically, cold (n = 445 or approximately 53%), or cool (n = 250 or approximately 30%), or hot (n = 20 or approximately 2%). Hateful comments attracted more likes than non-hateful comments.Originality/valueThis study advances our understanding of how negative brand perceptions underpin an extreme negative emotional reaction in the form of brand hate. The empirical evidence enables brand managers to better address disgusted, angry, or contemptuous consumers (or stakeholders) and consider whether the feeling is enduring, strong or weak, and linked to either aggressive or passive behaviours.

Hallidayean Transitivity Analysis: ChatGPT in the Contrasting Headlines of Two National Newspapers

Conflicting national media positions are often reflected in the discursive patterns used in news headlines. By using the headlines collected from online articles in the Chinese national daily newspaper China Daily and the American national daily newspaper The New York Times, Halliday’s transitivity analysis is deployed to analyze these processes in the light of critical discourse studies. The study finds that while China Daily holds a moderate attitude toward ChatGPT, The New York Times tends to view this new technology critically. The results also highlight the cultural values and ideologies of the two newspapers from the choices of their news headlines.

Understanding of Pranavaha Sroto Moola in the purview of modern physiology

Introduction: Pranavaha Srotas are the first Srotas to be enlisted in Charaka Samhita. These channels carry Prana all over the body to all bodily tissues. Pranavaha Srotas has its Moola in Hridaya and Mahasrotas according to Charaka Samhita while Sushuruta Samhita states that Hridaya and Rasavahini Dhamanis as Moola. Moola of Pranavaha Srotas not only denotes the anatomical aspects but also represents the functional entities. Methods: A comprehensive literature review was done on Pranavaha Srotas in Ayurveda and the physiology of respiration according to contemporary science through searching classical texts, textbooks, and online articles from peer-reviewed journals to narrate the Anatomical, Functional/physiological aspects, and Therapeutic aspects of Pranavaha Sroto Moola. Results: Pranavaha Srotas can be considered as a functional unit that consists of the heart, brain, and alimentary canal. Respiratory physiology is directly linked to the circulatory, gastro gastrointestinal systems for the exchange of gases, absorption, transportation, excretion, monitoring, and control of all activities. Conclusion: Pranavaha Srotas is the basic system that works in harmony with all the physiological attributes of the body like circulatory, alimentary, and nervous systems.

Implikasi Jarh wa al-Ta’dil terhadap Keautentikan Hadits (Studi Validitas Dalil Qunut Subuh Madzhab Al-Syafi’i)

This study examines the influence of the science of jarh wa ta'dil in determining the validity of qunut hadith for every subuh prayer in the Shafi'i school of thought. This study investigates how Shafi'i scholars apply the science of jarh wa ta'dil to assess the validity and authenticity of hadith and provide recommendations for Muslims in responding to qunut subuh hadith. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytic approach. Data is collected from relevant books, scientific journals, and online articles. Data analysis is carried out using content analysis methods. The results of the author's research find that the science of Jarh wa ta'dil plays a very important role for Shafi'i scholars in particular and generally for all scholars of madhhab in assessing the credibility of a sanad matan, such as analyzing the behavior of hadith narrators, piety, honesty, even more specifically such as from the quality of the narrator's memorization, and the author found that the hadiths that were used as arguments for qunut subuh by the Shafi'i madhhab could be used as hujjah, Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that a hadith nash can be used as the basis for a religious law when it is at the level of maqbul hadith, at least hasan ligoiri, and for qunut hadith in the Shafi'i school of thought it is classified as maqbul hadith so it can be used as evidence for its implementation.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is experiencing rapid development across various fields, including religious studies such as the Qur'an, the holy book of Islam, which plays a central role in spiritual and moral life. This study aims to explore the opportunities for AI application in Qur'anic studies through a literature review by analyzing credible sources such as scientific journals, books, and online articles. The methodology employed includes the collection and analysis of literature related to the application of AI in the context of the Qur'an. The findings indicate that AI has significant potential to enhance the understanding and practice of the Qur'an through easier access to information, in-depth text analysis, personalized learning, interactive education, and the preservation of ancient manuscripts. These findings highlight the novelty in how AI can be used to enrich Qur'anic studies, particularly through text analysis and machine learning technologies. However, this study also identifies challenges and ethical issues that need to be addressed, such as interpretation accuracy and religious sensitivity. The contribution of this research lies in providing an initial framework for further exploration of how AI can be applied effectively and ethically in Qur'anic studies. Therefore, further research is needed to maximize the benefits of AI and minimize its risks, supporting the development of more modern and technologically integrated religious studies.

A survey of attitudes, behaviors and experiences of Nigerian investors in cryptocurrencies

Purpose Given the many activities of Nigerian investors in the crypto ecosystem, this paper investigates the level of their awareness, attitudes, risk tolerance, experience, reasons for investing and level of financial literacy.Design/methodology/approach The research approach is based on a self-administered questionnaire. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) permitted the use of its reliable and validated survey instrument, administered in Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam in 2019. The results are tabulated and analyzed.Findings The key results include the participation of respondents, who are generally young males, not fully financially literate but risk-averse. Many held the false view that investing in global markets is a higher risk than in national markets. Their reasons for investing in crypto include the fear of missing out on good opportunities and the desire to have fun. The results also revealed that social media, conversations with non-experts and online articles are among the most used investment information sources, highlighting the role of digital platforms and informal discussions in shaping perceptions and knowledge about cryptocurrencies. Investments in cryptos are financed through savings, regular monthly budgets or borrowed from friends or family. As for specific attitudes to risk, the results suggest that for most respondents, preserving their invested capital is of paramount importance.Originality/value The importance of this research also resides in the possibility of comparing the crypto ecosystem in Asia with Nigeria because the same OECD data instrument is employed in data collection. Moreover, this study is the most comprehensive research about Nigerian investors in cryptocurrencies.

Review of Clinical Considerations in the Management of Adolescents with ADHD During Ramadan

Background: Fasting in Ramadan, a holy month in Islam, is considered a religious obligation to Muslims after puberty. Fasting during Ramadan entails abstinence from consuming food and liquids, as well as abstaining from other activities, including smoking and sexual activity, from dawn until sunset. Literature exists regarding the management of multiple medical conditions impacted by the month of fasting; however, limited literature exists to guide the management of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) during Ramadan. Methods: This systematic review employed a PUBMED search which was conducted using keywords ((ADHD) AND (Muslims)) OR ((ADHD) AND (FASTING)) OR ((ADHD) AND (RAMADAN)) OR ((RAMADAN) AND (MANAGEMENT)) and search strategies to find existing literature on ADHD management during Ramadan or while fasting. Results: Eight hundred and sixty-one results were obtained. Of these, full texts of clinical trials, systematic reviews, reviews, randomized control trials, and metaanalyses resulted in 303 results that were screened by title or abstract for relevance to the topic. The duplicate articles were removed. Eighty-nine results were incorporated into this paper, including full articles, book excerpts, and online articles. Discussion: Muslim adolescents may face challenges with academic and social functioning as they navigate psychosocial changes in the context of Ramadan. ADHD management options should be discussed with individuals who are planning to fast. Pharmacologic management options include continuing on the current regimen, dose adjustment to mitigate side effect exacerbation, a change in medication class, or a change in medication formulation. For severe cases or cases with comorbid conditions, continued fasting may not be recommended. In these cases, the patient should attempt to seek counsel with their community’s religious scholar in collaboration with their medication provider. Ultimately, there are limitations in the available data, and there is a need for further investigation into the impacts of fasting during Ramadan on individuals with ADHD and the effectiveness of interventions to promote treatment adherence.

Authoritative and epistemic stance in the construction of conspiracy theories: A case study

What is central to conspiracy theories is the revelation of a hidden or manipulated truth. In addition, the speaker/writer who believes in a conspiracy theory and shares their views on it also seeks the listener’s/reader’s adhesion to the theory. As a result, the speaker/writer must solve two problems: first, the version in which they believe has to be perceived as plausible by the audience and, second, the speaker/writer must have, or gain, credit in order to appear credible. These two aspects are somewhat subsumed under what Biber and Hyland, among others, refer to as stance and stance-taking, which correspond to the positioning of a locutor towards viewpoints and interlocutors. In order to analyze these aspects and the relations between the linguistic markers and the discursive strategies (pragmatic, argumentative, or rhetoric), this study is based on a corpus analysis of online articles written by Jon Rappoport, an unequivocal conspiracy theorist. I only focus on plausibility hedges and certainty boosters so as to study the marking of authoritative and epistemic stance in his discourses and the function(s) they perform. The results show that both plausibility hedges and certainty are used to legitimize Rappoport’s theories and strengthen his authority in various ways, depending on the devices used. Plausibility hedges are mainly used to voice a dissenting interpretation of reality, presented as a possibility that cannot be ruled out, and downplay the elite’s viewpoints. Certainty boosters are used to express the author’s confidence and commitment towards his theories, by presenting his interpretation of reality as unquestionable, self-evident or consensual. Finally, the use of first-person pronouns and booster or hedge verbs are also used to strengthen the legitimacy of the theories and the authority of the author by explicitly indicating his contribution to the construction of conspiracy theories or to introduce and support a dissident viewpoint.

Fenomena Jokes Seksis Mahasiswa Sebagai Bentuk Normalisasi Pelecehan Seksual Secara Verbal

This research discusses the phenomenon of students' sexist jokes as a form of normalization of verbal sexual disclosure. The purpose of this research is to find out how students can normalize sexual verbal displays wrapped in sexist jokes. The research approach used is qualitative descriptive research in order to obtain comprehensive and in-depth data. Primary data in this research was obtained from the results of interviews conducted with 6 (six) informants, all of whom were students at Bdudi Luhur University. Meanwhile, secondary data is obtained from books, scientific works, theses, online articles, and others that are relevant to the research used as a reference in writing. The results of interviews conducted with informants were explained by researchers using neutralization theory introduced by Sykes and Matza (1957). The results obtained from this research are that male students as perpetrators of sexist jokes normalize the act of sexual disclosure using the neutralization techniques of The Denial of Responsibility: in telling sexist jokes the perpetrator only follows other friends; The Denial of Injury: finds the perpetrator that the victim enjoyed the sexist joke he made; The Denial of Victim: the perpetrator will make sexist jokes at victims who speak poorly and look bad; The Condemnation of The Condemners: the victim still enjoys and does not feel hurt by the jokes they make so they will not think about the views and input of other people; Appeal to Higher Loyalties: the perpetrator also believes that sexist jokes are a sign of closeness in a friendship.

Digital Marketing Transformation Optimization: Building Superior Brand Awareness for Hydroponic Products

This study examines the process of enhancing digital marketing transformation in order to establish a stronger brand awareness for hydroponic products. The objective of this study is to enhance the efficacy and productivity of digital media marketing through the examination of digital marketing strategies employed by hydroponic companies and the creation of novel approaches. The literature review encompasses the subjects of digital marketing, brand recognition, and hydroponics. The study methodology employed is qualitative, utilising data obtained from various sources such as articles, newspapers, journals, books, online articles, library data, and other relevant materials. The findings indicate that strategically enhancing digital marketing transformation, namely through popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, can effectively boost the visibility and recognition of hydroponic products. MSMEs and educational institutions have the ability to significantly broaden their promotional endeavours and enhance the visibility of hydroponic products. The study's findings suggest that optimising digital marketing transformation can be a very effective approach to enhance brand awareness for hydroponic products. This is particularly true when utilising major social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. MSMEs and educational institutions could leverage this digital marketing change to broaden the promotional reach and enhance the visibility of the products.

Dialogue in the Dark Malaysia: reimagining an inclusive society through social innovation

Research methodology This case was developed via primary data collected from personal (one to one) interview with the CEO and founder of Dialogue in the Dark Malaysia (Dialogue Malaysia), Stevens Chan. With Stevens’ contact, the authors also conducted personal interviews with Kaye Chan (co-founder and wife of Stevens Chan), Lynn Foo (project manager since inception until early 2022) and Dr Foo Yin Fah (academic researcher in social entrepreneurship and advisor for Dialogue Malaysia). Secondary data included reports on visually impaired context in Malaysia, Dialogue Malaysia’s annual reports and online articles. Prior to the primary data collection, the authors obtained ethics approval from the University Human Ethics Committee (Project ID: 35461). Case overview/synopsis This case narrative focuses on Stevens Chan, a blind social entrepreneur who champions the empowerment of the disabled and marginalised community. Through a social franchising model, Stevens founded Dialogue in the Dark Malaysia in 2012. As a social start-up, Stevens showcases the strengths of blind and visually impaired individuals through transformative experiential encounters and reimagining future possibilities. Although there are constant challenges in securing financial and human capital, Stevens never lacks psychological capital, characterised by hope, self-efficacy, optimism and resilience. His vision is to educate society on the power of empathy (and not sympathy) and to create a holistic experience of celebrating diversity and inclusion through an innovative discovery centre, where the elderly and the disabled community (including the deaf, mute and those with mobility issues) share their lives with the public through fun activities. However, the future of this social enterprise is uncertain, and this case invites participants to embark on this journey with Stevens to uncover future pathways for growth and social impact. Complexity academic level The case is tailored for higher level undergraduates and entry-level and mid-level managers of executive education programs.

The role of big data in financial technology toward financial inclusion.

In the rapidly evolving landscape of financial technology (FinTech), big data stands as a cornerstone, driving significant transformations. This study delves into the pivotal role of big data in FinTech and its implications for financial inclusion. Employing a comprehensive literature review methodology, we analyze diverse sources including academic journals, industry reports, and online articles. Our findings illuminate how big data catalyzes the development of novel financial products and services, enhances risk management, and boosts operational efficiency, thereby fostering financial inclusion. Particularly, big data's capability to offer insightful customer behavior analytics is highlighted as a key driver for creating inclusive financial services. However, challenges such as data privacy and security, and the need for ethical algorithmic practices are also identified. This research contributes valuable insights for policymakers, regulators, and industry practitioners, suggesting a need for balanced regulatory frameworks to harness big data's potential ethically and responsibly. The outcomes of this study underscore the transformative power of big data in FinTech, indicating a pathway toward a more inclusive financial ecosystem.

Lexical pragmatic indicators of conflictogenicity in the light of the manifestation of national communication style (based on Mexican and US mass media)

The lexical pragmatic indicators of conflictogenicity peculiar to Mexican and US media discourse were selected by means of a continuous sampling method from the articles published in 2021-2024 in American (CNN, The Fox News, The New York Times, The New York Post, Los Angeles Times - 100 articles) and Mexican (La Jornada, La Opinion, Excélsior, El Universal, El Milenio - 100 articles) online newspapers. All the analyzed articles are devoted to the migration crisis, which is a common problem of these countries. For the first time, the correlation between the conflict potential index of the text, the density of linguoconflictogens used and the peculiarities of the linguoculture of the ethnic group was established. According to the results, Mexican mass media is characterized by a significantly lower conflict potential index of the text compared to US publications: the density of the lexical pragmatic indicators of the conflict potential is not only lower but in fact lexical units with strong negative semantics are rarely used. The authors of Mexican online publications avoid using such stylistic means of "situation pumping" as hyperbolisation which is so common for US mass media. Metaphors are practically not used in Mexican press either. It is important to note that while the American media discourse is dominated by the extremely negative image of migrants as criminals and terrorists, the Mexican media presents two different types of migrants: the rich arrogant white-skinned trouble-provoking alien and the Latino brother who needs help and protection. The study's perspectives include a comparison of the conflict potential index of user-generated content in these countries and the compilation of a typology of the lexical pragmatic indicators of the conflict potential used.

META-ANALYSIS OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODELS ON PHYSICS PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITIES

The ability to solve these problems can be built and improved through the use of the Problem Based-Learning (PBL) learning model. This research aims to analyze the effect of using the Problem Based Learning model on students' Physics problem solving abilities. The method used in this research is meta-analysis. Meta-analysis is carried out by summarizing previously existing research data. Data collection was carried out by reviewing and searching ten online articles that examined the influence of the Problem Based Learning Model on physics problem solving abilities. The population in this study is research articles about the PBL model published online in the period 2018-2023. The samples taken were ten journals related to the research title. In this research, to find the right articles, search keywords were use, namely Problem Based Learning, the ability to solve problems on websites or online article pages. The criteria for articles taken as reference material in this meta-analysis are to contain at least the average pretest score before using the PBL model and the posttest score after using the PBL model to make it easier to determine the effect size. The results of the meta analysis carried out show that there is an influence of learning using the Problem Based Learning model on increasing students' Physics problem solving abilities.

Comparative Literature Analysis of National Security Management from The Global to Malaysia

The national security management structure is crucial to understand in ensuring whether the existing mechanisms are effective in dealing with national security issues and challenges. The country's approach, particularly through security agencies, should always carry out an assessment of internal and external threats from time to time, so that the integrity of the country's sovereignty remains guaranteed. The evolution of threat perception is in line with what is stated in the Malaysia Defense White Paper published in 2020 which is "the national interests in the present and future are tied to an uncertain security environment and the impact of an uncertain regional and global security environment, as well as an international strategic perspective become more complex and difficult to predict in the coming year.” Therefore, it is very important for a study to be carried out to see the comparison of national security management at the global and Malaysia so that good added value can be emulated, and the constraints faced can be used as lessons for improvement. The study uses Qualitative methods through library research which is the analysis of journals and online articles to obtain the views of past scholars on internal and external threats and security management structure, including the reformation required. The results of the analysis found that the threat that occurs in Malaysia same as the global except nuclear. Both globally and Malaysia face agency coordination problems due to national decisions and duplication of duties, state coordination issues due to the role being denied, reform failure and increased threats, weaknesses in reformation caused by political interference and there is a need for the involvement of all parties in national security management.
