Training on Cassava Rose Getuk Processing Innovation in Keceh Asmoro Tourism Village, Mangunharjo, Tembalang, Semarang City. Several villages in the Semarang area have the potential to be developed into attractive tourist destinations, both for local and foreign tourists, natural tourist attractions such as the Ungaran mountains and the beaches around Semarang are also special attractions. One of the tourist villages in Semarang City that is currently being developed is the Keceh Asmoro Mangunharjo Tembalang Tourism Village pilot. This village is a unique tourist destination because it has tourism potential in one location, both natural, environmental and local potential. The Keceh Asmoro Tourism Village destination has a lot of good potential that can be developed, apart from nature, as well as local cassava food production. Training on processed cassava getuk rose innovation in the Keceh Asmoro Mangunharjo Tourism Village was carried out to increase the added value of local products and support tourism development in the region. Wisata Keceh Asmoro Village in the Mangunharjo sub-district also has local produce, namely cassava food. With this training, it is hoped that the community will be able to utilize local ingredients which are widely available in that place and local actors there can learn innovative ways of making cassava getuk in other forms so that they can increase the creativity and expertise of UMKM in making food, especially cassava getuk rose.

Waste pollution in the Marina Beach area of Semarang has reached a critical stage, threatening ecosystem sustainability and reducing the beach's tourist attraction. The background of this issue prompted a community service initiative aimed at reducing waste volume in the coastal area and increasing public awareness about environmental preservation. The implementation method employed a descriptive-observational approach, including direct beach condition observations, beach clean-up actions, and tree planting as a symbolic environmental restoration effort. The service results demonstrated a significant reduction in waste volume and increased participant awareness of environmental issues. Through provided education, the activity successfully encouraged a shift in community mindset regarding waste management and the importance of environmental conservation. Tree planting contributed to ecosystem damage mitigation efforts, with the hope of providing long-term benefits for coastal environmental sustainability

Evaluation of the Implementation of Main Distribution Material (MDU) Spare Part Procurement at Seven Customer Service Units (ULP) in Semarang Area using ABC Analysis and Time Series Forecasting (Case Study: PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Semarang) Time series forecasting is a method used to predict the number of future needs in a time series. This research was conducted at the company PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Semarang, where the author tried to deal with the company's problems related to the procurement of Main Distribution Material (MDU) which often occurs overstock or lack of stock. The author uses ABC analysis to classify goods based on value ratings ranging from the highest value so that three parts with group A are obtained for forecasting, kWH meters, 2 × 10 mm2 PWR cables, and 4A MCBs. Forecasting is done with four methods, the Multiplicative Decomposition method, the Holt-Winters method, the Moving Average method, and the Exponential Smoothing method. From the results of the error calculation, it is obtained that the Holt-Winters method obtains the lowest percentage error with results of 10% - 20% or is good to use for forecasting. The comparison between the forecasting results and the overall actual demand is above 70%, which means that the forecasting results are close to the actual demand that occurs, thus increasing the accuracy of the Holt-Winters forecasting method. Suggestions for improvement that can be given to the company are to apply the Holt-Winters forecasting method in forecasting MDU spare part inventory at PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Semarang.

The Effect Of Selling Competence, Selling Experience, and Relationship Quality On Salesforce Performance (Empirical Study of the Honda Semarang Center in the Coastal Area of Semarang)

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of selling experience, relationship quality, and selling competence to improve the performance of salespeople at PT. New Ratna Motor in the Coastal Area of Semarang. The object of this research is the Honda Semarang Center salesforce. The sample in this study were 139 respondents and the sampling technique used in this study was a census technique. The data analysis technique used is the structural equation model (SEM) technique from AMOS 22 software. The results show that selling competence and selling experience has a positive and significant effect on relationship quality. Selling experience and selling competence has a positive and significant effect on Salesforce performance. Relationship quality has a positive and significant effect on salesforce performance.

Menakar Peran Kepuasan Dalam Penciptaan Loyalitas Tamu Restoran Di Kawasan Kota Lama Semarang

The aim of the research is to empirically test the quality of service, trust and loyalty towards restaurant guest satisfaction in the Old City area of Semarang. The research method used in this research is a quantitative method. Based on calculations using the Slovin formula, the research sample was 100 respondents. The research results show that service quality and trust have a positive and significant influence on restaurant guest loyalty in the Kota Lama area of Semarang. Loyalty also has a positive and significant effect on restaurant guest satisfaction in the area. Satisfaction mediates the influence of service quality on restaurant guest loyalty, as well as mediates the influence of trust on restaurant guest loyalty in the Kota Lama area of Semarang.

Perencanaan partisipatif taman tematik Perumahan Kampoeng Semawis Semarang

This community service focuses on participatory planning of thematic parks at the Kampoeng Semawis Housing Complex, Semarang. This area has great potential to be developed into a useful public space, but currently the existing green open space is still less than optimal in its use. The focus of this service is to create a thematic park that not only functions as a green open space, but also as a place for social interaction and education for residents. The main issue faced is the lack of community involvement in planning and managing public spaces, which results in a lack of sense of ownership and concern for existing facilities. Through a participatory approach, this program aims to increase citizen participation in planning and managing public spaces. It is hoped that with this thematic park, the level of citizen participation in maintaining and utilizing public spaces will increase, which will ultimately improve the quality of life for the residents of Kampoeng Semawis. This community service aims to examine the participatory planning process for thematic parks in Kampoeng Semawis and its impact on community participation and the quality of life of local residents. It is hoped that the results of this program can become a model for the development of public space in other residential areas in Semarang.

Household food security and WASH practices in children with undernutrition: a case study in low middle income area in Semarang, Indonesia

Purpose: This study analyzed the correlation between household food security (HFS) and WASH practices toward nutritional status in children with undernutrition. Methods: This type of research was analytically observational with a cross-sectional design. The sample in this study was 55 mothers with children with a history of undernutrition aged 6 to 23 months. The Rank Spearman test was conducted to analyze this study. Results: The prevalence of stunted and severely stunted was 34.55%, respectively; underweight and severely underweight were 36.36%, respectively; and wasted and severely wasted were 30.91 and 16.36% respectively. The percentage of respondents with mild, moderate, and severe food insecurity were 23.6, 7.3, and 12.7% respectively. The average value of WASH practices was rated as good among all respondents. Household food security score was associated with WAZ (p=0.008 and r=0.352) and HAZ (p=0.027 and r=0.299) but was not associated with WHZ (p=0.067; r=0.248). WASH practice was associated with WAZ (p=0.000; r=0.504), HAZ (p=0.000; r=0.455), and WHZ (p=0.000; r=0.334). Conclusion: There were still conditions of severe food insecurity and undernutrition problems that need the focus of attention. There is a need for monitoring by looking at certain aspects, such as HFS and WASH practices in reducing undernutrition.

Advantage or disadvantage, this change in identity has placed someone like Kyai Pati in a respected position; through the path of Syiar, he has become an essential part of the history of Islamization in Semarang.

The assessment of chlorophyll-a retrieval algorithm and its spatial-temporal distribution using sentinel-2 MSI off the Banjir Kanal Timur River, Semarang, Indonesia

In aquatic ecology, Chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) plays a pivotal role in biogeochemical cycles, as well as a key indicator for the trophic state in the environment. Coastal area of Semarang is known as eutrophic waters. Thus continuous monitoring of Chl-a will be beneficial for the management of the impact of the trophic dynamic in the coastal waters of Semarang. Taking the benefit of the continuous monitoring of satellite measurement, the present study provides the assessment of Chl-a off the Banjir Kanal Timur (BKT) River, Semarang, using the proper remote sensing approach. In this study, algorithms were generated according to bands sensitive to Chl-a scattering properties, using multiple regression between in-situ Chl-a and Bottom of Atmospheric (BoA) reflectance from Sentinel-2 with 10 m resolution. A total of 43 water samples were collected to build the algorithm and 43 of the water samples were used for validation during the passing time of Sentinel-2 at the equator i.e., on 21 August 2021 at 9.00–11.00 local time. The results show that the performance of the algorithm generated in this study has high accuracy as denoted by the low RMSE, and MAPE, respectively. For the seasonal variation, the highest (lowest) concentration of Chl-a is observed in December (September), with values reaching 11.92 µg/L (7.06 µg/L). The seasonal fluctuation of Chl-a depends on air temperature and sunshine duration. High (low) air temperature and long (short) duration of solar exposure result in increased (decreased) Chl-a off the BKT River. Conversely, the elevated wind velocity only impacts the rise of Chl-a in the region far from the river estuary, which is associated with the mixing process. BKT waters are categorized as eutrophic conditions, with a concentration exceeding 6 µg/L. These algorithms can provide valuable insights into the health and productivity of coastal ecosystems, aiding in their monitoring and management.

Water sensitive urban design approach for flood prone area (Study case: Kauman Riverfront Area, Semarang)

Kauman Semarang Riverfront Area is the center of the trade and services area in Semarang, especially for traditional trade. This area is located between three ethnic villages and is adjacent to Kali Semarang, a river that has an important meaning and historical value for the city’s development. Kauman Area is located in Central Semarang District, Semarang City, and is within a 1 km radius of the Semarang Old Town, a tourist attraction in the cultural heritage field, which is known as the priority of socio-cultural development on the city and province scale. However, with this type of potential, Kauman Riverfront Area has a medium-high flooding threat. In 2021, the number of flood incidents was the highest within five years (88 incidents). This study aims to examine the WSUD approach for the study area that focuses on the urban water system to decrease flooding risk and its correlation with urban design elements. The chosen method for this research is a fragmental method that consists of four steps, which begin with collecting data until producing the WSUD component approach, which is likely to be implied. The results show that the WSUD components and water system for Kauman Riverfront Area to increase the stormwater infiltration and storage.

Rob Flood Control on the North Coast of Java (Study on coastal areas of Pekalongan and Semarang)

Flooding on the coasts of Pekalongan and Semarang, North Coast of Java (Pantura), has become a severe problem for the Indonesian government. Factors causing the flood are rainfall, climate, land subsidence and rob, river conditions, tidal influence, poorer areas, land change, inappropriate flood control, damage to flood control buildings, excessive groundwater utilization, inappropriate flood management, river sedimentation, reduced water catchment areas, and runoff floods. Therefore, there is a need for an appropriate handling study to deal with these problems. This research aimed to determine the achievements of coastal flood control on the North Coast of Java. Data was collected through a literature review for secondary data, field studies for primary data, in-depth interviews with relevant stakeholders, and observation. The results showed that handling Rob flooding in coastal Pekalongan focuses on four locations: Bremi River, Meduri River, Mrican pump house, and Silempeng. Rob flood handling methods on the Pekalongan coast include the construction of concrete barriers with corrugated sheet pile (CCSP), compacted soil embankments with bamboo mattress reinforcement, and submersible pumping machines at the Mrican pump house. In comparison, rob flood management in coastal Semarang focuses on the Sringin and Tenggang rivers. The flood handling methods conducted are the provision of pumps, construction of Rob embankments and retention ponds, normalization, drainage improvements, and interconnection channels. However, handling coastal flooding needs a comprehensive and sustainable follow-up.

Computational Design for Multi-Optimized Geometry of Sustainable Flood-Resilient Urban Design Habitats in Indonesia

Unfortunately, flooding is a major worldwide problem that especially affects low-lying cities like Semarang, Indonesia. Therefore, this study focuses on the flood-prone areas of Semarang, where recurring high tides and surges from severe precipitation cause havoc. In order to create water-resistant dwelling topologies, the paper explores the early incorporation of computational design approaches. Ultimately, the objective is to explore the strategic application of generative design techniques to support the development of a highly adaptive urban environment using optimization-based data-driven design approaches. With careful consideration, advanced computational methods were used to find concepts that may manage and lessen possible consequences in an efficient manner, increasing the urban landscape’s overall flexibility. Achieving the best possible solutions, which consider issues like feasibility, sustainability, durability, adaptability, and user comfort, requires the application of computational studies such as microclimatic, rainfall, energy performance, and fluid simulations. Consequently, promising advances in water retention and trajectory control features are shown by evaluations that concentrate on wind dynamics and energy considerations. One such example is GEN_8, the most optimal typology produced by additive massing approaches. In addition to showing less water retention than usual building typologies, GEN_8 optimizes energy performance to improve user experience overall. Accordingly, the computationally created geometry GEN_8’s shaded areas and facades effectively account for between 191.4 and 957 kWh/m2 of yearly solar radiation. In contrast, average building typologies show higher amounts of annual solar radiation, with a minimum of 574.32 kWh/m2 and a maximum of 1148.65 kWh/m2. This paper’s comprehensive approach not only addresses worldwide issues but also highlights how computational design techniques may be used to construct, assess, and validate workable solutions for flood-prone locations within a flexible framework that has been painstakingly designed. As a result, the research also highlights the significance of technological advancements and computational tools in assessing, producing, and validating workable solutions for flood-prone locations by carefully curating a flexible framework that ensures efficiency, comfort, and design optimization.

“No Hijab in Workplace”: Discrimination against Muslim Women Employees in Indonesian Property Companies

The challenges of injustice faced by Muslim Women Employees who wear the hijab in the workplace still occur and have an impact on undeveloped career paths and low-paying job positions. Certain job positions do not require Muslim Women to wear the hijab, and some companies ask Muslim women who wear the hijab to take off their hijab. This research aimed to explore the challenges experienced by Muslim Women Employees who wear the hijab in their career paths and job positions at three property sector companies in Tangerang, Bekasi, and Semarang. The research was conducted using a qualitative phenomenological study method, and there were four informants from property companies in the Bekasi area, three people from property companies in the Tangerang area, and three from property companies in the Semarang area. The results of this study show that the forms of challenges experienced by the informants impacted their performance. Thus, the informants chose to resign from their jobs, and only one informant changed divisions. The study results also show that Muslim Women Employees who wear the hijab experience career stagnation due to non-objective assessments by superiors who do not like the way their hijab.

Urban Flood And Its Correlation With Built-Up Area In Semarang, Indonesia

The expansion of urban areas is closely related to environmental problems such as changes in land use, flooding, and land subsidence. Semarang is a city with reasonably rapid development and a high land change experiencing floods and land subsidence. This paper will discuss land transformation caused by urban growth and its implications. It uses a combination of geospatial techniques and cloud computing Google Earth Engine (GEE) to carry out mapping over a large area without being constrained by computer capabilities. This study found that the built-up area in 2010 occupied 36.27% of the city, and it went up to 59.79% in 2021, in eastern, south-eastern, and northern parts of Semarang City in the last six years. Most of the built-up areas, especially those located in coastal areas, are located in areas with a high rate of land subsidence and urban flooding. The built-up area also significantly increases residential areas compared to other land cover types such as vegetation, open land, and water bodies. Built-up area growth also contributes to the rate of land conversion in Semarang City, especially in Mijen Regency; the vegetation cover was transformed into industrial areas and housing, which heavily stressed the land and environment. This leads to the increasing subsidence on the land of that area, which resulted in increasing tidal floods or rob.

Organic waste management based on supply chain management using arena simulation and macro ergonomics approach

In this modern era, simulation software such as Arena has become a valuable tool for designing, optimizing, and analyzing the flow of supply chains efficiently. The aim of this research is to describe and analyze the flow of waste supply chains using Arena software. The second objective is to analyze the behavior of the people of Semarang city regarding organic waste processing using a macroergonomics approach. This study employs a simulation approach by utilizing Arena software to model the flow of waste supply chains from collection, sorting, processing, to final disposal stages. Using Arena software, simulation results can be measured and objectively analyzed, serving as a basis for identifying improvements and enhancements in the waste supply chain. To manage organic waste in an area it is necessary to involve cognitive, psychological, organizational and environmental aspects. The strategy for managing organic waste in urban areas such as the Semarang area is to manage and ensure that organic waste has added value and sales value.

Strategi Penyediaan Fasilitas Ruang Publik Inklusif di Kota Lama Semarang Berdasarkan Persepsi dan Preferensi Lansia

A good public space must be friendly and accommodating to everyone, including the elderly. Elderly is a group that has limitations when they are in public spaces because of their different needs. To find out the needs of the elderly in public spaces, it is necessary to understand their perceptions and preferences for the facilities provided so that the elderly do not need to adapt. The purpose of this study is to determine the perceptions and preferences of the elderly in the provision of inclusive public spaces in Kota Lama Semarang. Analysis of the perceptions and preferences of the elderly was carried out on three aspects, namely accessibility, comfort and safety. Data collection was carried out through filling out questionnaires by 60 elderly in Kota Lama Semarang area. This study uses Likert scale as measuring tool for the perceptions and preferences of the elderly. The conclusion from the three aspects studied, the perception of the elderly in the condition of public space facilities shows that there are advantages and disadvantages. While the preferences of the elderly in the provision of public space facilities show that the elderly agree if procurement, additions, or improvements to facilities related to the three aspects studied. The strategy for providing inclusive public space facilities can follow the standards or best practices in other cities or countries, but does not leave the classic nuance which is the identity of the Kota Lama Semarang.
