Analyzing the drivers of the low-carbon construction supply chain based on an integrated DEMATEL–ANP approach

PurposeCarbon reduction in the construction supply chain can critically affect the construction industry’s transition to an environmentally sustainable one. However, implementing carbon reduction in all parties is restricted because of the poor understanding of the drivers influencing the low-carbon construction supply chain (LCCSC). The purpose of this paper is to systematically identify the drivers of LCCSC, analyze their causality, and prioritize the importance of their management.Design/methodology/approachA decision-making analysis process was developed using an integrated decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL)–analytical network process (ANP). First, the hierarchical drivers of the LCCSC were identified through a literature review. The DEMATEL method was subsequently applied to analyze the interactions between the drivers, including the direction and strength of impact. Finally, the ANP analysis was used to obtain the drivers’ weights; consequently, their priorities were established.FindingsVarious factors with complex interactions drive LCCSC. With respect to their influence relationships, incentive policy, regulatory policy, consumers’ low-carbon preference, market competition, supply chain performance, and managers’ low-carbon awareness have more significant center degrees and are cause drivers. Their strong correlations and influence on other drivers should be noticed. In terms of weights in the driver system, regulatory policy, consumers’ low-carbon preference, supply chain performance, and incentive policy are the key drivers of LCCSC and require primary attention. Other drivers, such as supply chain collaboration, employee motivation, and public participation, play a minor driving role with less management priority.Originality/valueDespite some contributing studies with localized perspectives, the systematic analysis of LCCSC drivers is limited, especially considering their intricate interactions. This paper establishes the LCCSC driver system, explores the influence relationships among the drivers, and determines the key drivers. Hence, it contributes to the sustainable construction supply chain domain by enabling decision-makers and practitioners to systematically understand the drivers of LCCSC and gain management implications on priority issues with limited resources.

Analysis of the zakat village model for economic sector utilization: ANP approach

Purpose – This study evaluates the economic sectors of the Zakat Village Program by identifying the objectives, criteria, and risks.Methodology – This study uses a qualitative Analytic Network Process (ANP) approach to determine the order of priorities and decision-making. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires with expert respondents in the field of zakat utilization and empowerment.Finding – This research shows that the village zakat program plays an important role in overcoming economic problems. However, experts believe that the aspect of determining activities is still considered low.Implication – The findings of this study contribute to the enhancement of zakat village program planning, so that the objective components of the zakat village program can be expressed more clearly and in detail in the future.Originality – This original study collected the views of experts in evaluating village zakat programs by confirming them through the geometric mean as a priority value for each objective, criteria, main criteria, and risk.

Private Islamic Hospital Service Management Strategy Model in Pekanbaru Based on Accreditation with an Analytic Network Process Approach

There are many factors that are the burden and responsibility of Islamic Hospital Practitioners, experts and regulators in resolving sharia service and accreditation problems and prioritizing effective solutions for Islamic Hospitals. From problems (1)Sharia services that focus on Customer Oriented, Transparency, Healthy Competition and Justice. (2)Patient problems, namely no sharia consultations, unsatisfactory services received, long queues, lack of services for disabled patients (3)Accreditation problems that focus on low classification and accreditation, poor maintenance, unsophisticated information systems and a poor hospital environment. not properly maintained (4)Ethical problems and Islamic hospital Business Management Concepts trigger problems. Planning for future hospital performance is not fulfilled, experts and employees are less professional, coordination of hospital staff is ineffective and does not have a Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS). This thought is the research problem, how to use the ANP method to find a solution that must be solved in this problem, assisted by Super Decision software. The results of this research are Solution Priorities (1) Sharia services, namely focusing on the main priority of Justice, Customer Oriented (2) Solutions for patients with the same priority, namely Sharia consultations, services received that satisfy patients. (3) Accreditation solutions in the order that the hospital environment is well maintained and goes green, maintenance is improved, quality management is improved (4) Islamic hospital Ethics Solutions and Business Concepts with future planning sequences fulfilled and professional employee experts selected, effective staff coordination and forming a DPS. The strategic priorities being developed are the implementation of superior and complete sharia services.

Competitiveness Improvement Strategies of Msme Blora Batik: Analytic Network Process Approach

Purpose: This study aims to develop strategic priorities for increasing the competitiveness of Batik SMEs in Blora Regency Theoretical Framework: Previous research in the field of company competitive advantage argued what approach is suitable to be used by MSME to grow sustainably. Sustainability of a company 's competitive advantage is influenced by the potential of existing resources (Grant, 1991). Design/Methodology/Approach: This research was conducted in Blora Regency, Central Java, which is one of the regions in Indonesia that is rich in culture and local wisdom. Like other areas in Central Java, Blora has batik as a traditional craft which is quite popular. Until now, the Blora Regency Government continues to develop the sustainability of Blora batik through empowerment programs. The data analysis method used in this research is the Analytic Network Process (ANP) which is a mathematical theory that allows decision making to deal with interrelated factors (dependence) and mathematical feedback. Findings: The findings in this study indicate that Batik Blora is a business unit that has the potential to develop and be competitive with various advantages. As a product that elevates regional advantages, it is necessary to increase business aspects that include upstream to downstream aspects so that the competitiveness of Blora batik can continue to increase. Research, Practical & Social Implications: The most prioritized aspect in increasing the competitiveness of Blora batik is the aspect of the business cycle which emphasizes increasing innovation and diversification as well as increasing business productivity. Originality/Value: This research is a research that focuses on the development strategy of Batik MSMEs with the ANP approach which has never been done before.

Analytical Network Process Model-Based Halal Tourism Development Strategy in Banjarmasin City

This research seeks to determine the halal tourism development strategy in Banjarmasin City, prioritizing halal tourism development aspects, including tourist attraction, human resources, accessibility, regulations, marketing, and the environment. This research makes use of the Analytic Network Process approach. In-depth interviews and questionnaires were conducted with 12 expert informants consisting of academics, regulators, and practitioners. The results show that the priority issues are human resources, tourism services, regulations, and socialization. The priority solution to the four problems of developing halal tourism in Banjarmasin City is a regulatory solution. The strategies include 1) Improving the high-quality of human sources in halal tourism control; 2) Developing tourist services that are more Muslim-friendly; 3) Providing complete commitment and help from both the authorities and private zones in growing halal tourism; and 4) Accentuating the socialization and schooling concerning halal tourism to the network and tourism enterprise actors.

A fuzzy ANP-based criticality analyses approach of reliability-centered maintenance for CNC lathe machine components

Calculation of the criticality score and its analysis are important for the reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) of CNC lathe machine components. The tools of a CNC lathe machine include complex critical part and sub-systems. The reliability of parts decline due to the independent system fault. To identify the essential components of CNC lathe machine tools, a system level component criticality analysis method is proposed. In this study, a comprehensive framework of criticality-based RCM implementation through experimentation of a CNC-lathe machine is proposed. The criticality of machine components were identified by investigating their dependency on the criteria and sub-criteria. Five main criteria were found effective for the criticality of the components which are the cost, complexity, sustainability, functional dependency, and safety impacts. Fuzzy analytical network process (FANP) approach was employed to evaluate criticality scores for eleven-component of a CNC lathe machine. This is a preliminary study and aims to contribute to the literature and practitioners in many ways. The primary focus of our method lies in its capability to predict criticality values for a manufacturing system in absence of historical maintenance data relying on the expertise/intuition of the operator(s) for decision making for the predictive maintenance of the system with the help of fuzzy ANP approach. It was found that the turret was the most critical component with a metric of 0.0641 which was also found to be over 3 times more critical than the least critical hydraulic system, which had a criticality metric of 0.0187. This novel FANP framework provides a credible solution to real-world RCM scheduling and can be applied to any manufacturing system-related application.

Ranking Agility Factors to Reliably Sustain a Green Industrial Supply Chain Using the Fuzzy Analytic Network Process and Ordinal Priority Approach

Suppliers can achieve high levels of supply chain sustainability by improving the related factors. An agile supply chain can support sustainability. Identifying and ranking agility factors in the SAIPA company in Iran to reach a sustainable and green supply chain is the primary purpose of this study. SAIPA is an automotive company with an extensive supply chain. The data were quantitative, and the collection was completed by reviewing the literature and questioning experts. The FANP and the OPA methods were the tools used to analyze the data. These methods are proper for facing multiple-criteria decision-making problems, as in the case of this paper. We first identified the factors (capabilities, enablers, and attributes) using a literature review. After that, we gathered the data for ranking analysis by collecting the opinions of SAIPA’s organizational experts using a pairwise comparison questionnaire for the FANP and a prioritizing list for the OPA. Both methods showed that “Quickness” is the capability with the highest priority. “Customer Sensitivity” was the most critical enabler, and “Accurate customer-based measures” was the most significant attribute of the FANP analysis. The OPA results showed that “Information Management” was the first enabler, and “Efficient funds transfer” took first place among all the attributes. Managers should pay more attention to these factors to develop agile supply chains in the SAIPA company. The results also showed that the methods proposed for multi-attribute decision-making problems like the FANP have shortcomings, such as difficulties completing the pairwise comparison matrix due to burdensome data collection in cases similar to the one in this study with many factors.

Islamic Bank Socialization Model: The Formal Education Level Through a Learning Method for Elementary School Students

Purpose: The research aim is how the socialization of Islamic banks at the formal education level through a learning method for elementary school students in Indonesia. Theoretical framework: Socialization theory in the context of Islamic banking emphasizes the role of culture, religion, education, peer influence, media, regulations, and community engagement in shaping individuals' understanding and acceptance of Islamic financial principles and practices. It's a multifaceted process that involves both formal and informal channels of education and influence. Design/Methodology/Approach This study uses an Analytical Network Process (ANP) approach. Researchers provide questions to experts and practitioners selected as informants or respondents, as well as through in-depth interviews. Findings: This research found:1). The Islamic bank socialization model in 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade elementary schools uses three important aspects: Islamic law, good behavior, and Islamic bank products. 2). The main priority of these three things is Islamic bank products. 3). There are seven learning models in the socialization of Islamic banks at the elementary school level in grades four, five, and six: learning as a fun activity, learning to ask questions and work, learning to know each other, learning in groups, learning by doing, meaningful learning, and contextual learning. 4). The seven learning models with the highest ranking were learning as a fun activity. Research, Practical & Social implications: The limitations of this study concentrate on school children at the elementary level. The next researcher can concentrate on junior high school. Originality/Value: The originality of this research is that there are three criteria in the socialization of Islamic banks: Islamic law, good behavior, and Islamic bank products. The results of the recap obtained data show that the priority scale of these three aspects is the product of Islamic banks, with a score of 0.66. The results are also based on the agreement between practitioners and experts.

An interpretive structural modeling—analytic network process approach for analysing green entrepreneurship barriers

AbstractEntrepreneurship is one of the issues that plays a key role in the economic growth and development of countries. This economic development and technological advancement have caused environmental damage, which has led entrepreneurs to move towards sustainable production and green entrepreneurship. There are, however, challenges and barriers in front of green entrepreneurs. Hence, this article aims to identify the barriers and challenges of green entrepreneurship in Iran and explore their Interactions and prioritization. To achieve this goal, two quantitative and qualitative approaches were used. In the qualitative approach, using the Fuzzy Delphi method and using expert opinions in this field, 16 factors were identified. In the quantitative phase, the ISM-ANP combination approach was used. First, Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) was used to analyze the Interactions between these factors. Finally, using the ISM output, the analytic network process (ANP) method was used to prioritize these barriers. The results showed that the factor of reducing budget allocations and investing in green entrepreneurship in the first priority and the factor of high investment costs in the last priority. Given that so far few studies have been conducted in Iran on the barriers to green entrepreneurship, this paper provides a basis for understanding the various factors that prevent the implementation of green entrepreneurship. Also the analysis of these barriers by using the ISM-ANP approach is a new attempt and important in the field green entrepreneurship.

Qard Al-Hasan Revitalization as a Financing Alternative for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises: An Analytic Network Process Approach

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to explore aspects of the application of qard al hasan that support the successful implementation of qard al hasan as an Islamic crowdfunding instrument to finance Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Theoretical framework: The proper financing model is required to minimize the risk of Non Performing Loan of qard alhasan financing, so it can serve as an alternative access to financing for MSMEs that are classified as feasible but unbankable businesses. Design/Methodology/Approach: This research utilized the Analytic Network Process (ANP) which is the result of a literature study, and the opinions of practitioners and experts. Findings: To successfully implement qard al hasan as a financing instrument, it must be supported by internal and external aspects of the institution providing qard al hasan financing. Internal aspects consist of system and institutional management sub-aspects. The system sub-aspect consists of the qard al hasan distribution system, fund collection system, revenue system, and internal control system. Institutional management sub-aspect consists of human resources, organizational structure, governance, and business segment of the institution. External aspects consist of customer and authority sub-aspects. The customer sub-aspect consists of customer business management, customer segments, and collateral provision. While the authority sub-aspect includes regulations imposed by the authority to regulate the implementation of qard al-hasan. Research, practical & social implications: The results will provide input to all qard alhasan stakeholders, so the quality of financing is sound and sustainable. As a result, there will be more MSMEs that can be financed. Originality/Values: The originality of the research is in the scope of the discussion of qard al-hasan which is focused on revitalizing the financing aspects of qard alhasan by using the principles of sound financing practices produced by the ANP method as an analytical tool with the aim of producing sound and sustainable financing quality. The results of this research are expected to contribute to the concept of a qard alhasan implementation model that can be used by all stake holders to improve qard al-hasan performance.

Strategy Development of Halal Industry for an Improved Competitiveness of MSMEs: An Analytic Network Process Approach

So far, there have been limited studies examining the strategies to develop the halal industry and improve the competitiveness of MSMEs in East Priangan, a high-potential area in West Java, Indonesia. Thus, this research focuses on the development of the halal industry to enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs in the area. The study utilized the analytic network process (ANP) approach and a structured questionnaire to identify suitable strategies. Seven key respondents, including academics and practitioners, were selected based on their expertise. The analysis yielded three key criteria for strategies: (1) education for MSMEs, (2) integrated financing, and (3) an MSME database. The top priority strategies include strengthening human resource capacity, halal literacy, and financing support. The research provides recommendations for MSMEs and regulatory agencies to improve competitiveness, serving as a reference for future relevant studies.

An innovation maturity assessment framework for universities with an integrated ANP approach

Purpose Identifying the criteria that effectively drive innovation in universities is critical to assessing their innovation maturity level, and hence, planning for the improvements required to reach a target level. This paper aims to propose a three-phase approach to develop a multidimensional maturity assessment framework used by university decision-makers to determine their level of innovation readiness. Design/methodology/approach First, a systematic collection of evaluation criteria from the literature is conducted. The results are mapped into different categories in a hierarchical and multidimensional way, and validated by experts. The second phase aims to identify the critical factors and their priorities, which are determined using analytic network process (ANP). To facilitate that, a panel of thirteen experts is formed and questionnaires are sent to rank the importance of the criteria and their elements. Finally, a maturity assessment tool is developed to complement the framework, allowing decision-makers to determine the level of innovation maturity with respect to each dimension and the overall position. Findings Results revealed three clusters, eight criteria and 26 subcriteria related to innovation in universities. The findings about the relative importance of the various attributes are reflected in the developed assessment tool and taken into consideration in the maturity indices computation approach. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first attempt to develop a comprehensive list of innovation success drivers in universities and to use this list to design an innovation maturity assessment framework

Prioritizing IoT adoption strategies in millennial farming: An analytical network process approach

Abstract This research aimed to formulate priority strategies for adopting Internet of Things (IoT)-based innovation by millennial farmers in Central Java Province, Indonesia. This research uses quantitative methods. The two stages involved were exploring external factors using a political, economic, social, and technological approach and internal factors using the resource-based view approach including human resources, physical resources, and organizational resources. Interviews were conducted with 120 millennial farmers in ten regions of Central Java. This led to the formulation of alternative adoption strategies. Furthermore, the second stage was formulating strategic priorities using the analytical network process approach, involving purposively selected experts from policymakers in the government. According to the research, the most considered factors for IoT adoption strategies were relative advantage, social influence, and technology anxiety. In the relative advantage, the most prioritized sub-factor was business profit. The most prioritized technology anxiety sub-factor cluster was unfamiliar with using IoT. The most prioritized social influence sub-factor cluster was a personal relationship. The resulting strategic priorities were strengthening openness to change, IoT education to millennial farmers, optimizing the role of institutions, and socializing the benefits of IoT to millennial farmers. Openness to change motivates millennial farmers to achieve continuous and better innovation. Millennial farmers need to be prepared for the new experiences to come. Government support through education, intensive mentoring, and increasing the active role of farmer mentoring institutions accelerates the adoption of IoT by millennial farmers.

A Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Model for Selecting the Best Project Delivery Systems for Offsite Construction Projects

Off-site construction (OSC) is an innovative construction method that transfers most of the site-based work to a more controlled environment. Construction waste minimization, speedy schedules, higher sustainability, and better quality are some of the perceived benefits of OSC. Therefore, significant research attention has been given to OSC. However, minimal research attention has been given to procurement management in OSC, which could impact its pace of adoption. Existing studies on the procurement methods of OSC projects have overlooked several criteria related to OSC that impact the selection of the appropriate procurement methods (i.e., design-build, construction management, etc.). In addition, the literature lacks decision-making tools to assist OSC practitioners in selecting the appropriate procurement method. In this regard, this study contributes to the body of knowledge by (1) identifying the criteria that impact the selection of OSC procurement methods; (2) developing a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model to select the appropriate OSC procurement methods. The developed MCDM model uses a hybrid approach of analytic network process (ANP) and evidential reasoning (ER). The ANP, which considers the interdependencies among the collected OSC procurement criteria, is used to calculate the relative importance weights through questionnaire surveys. The ER method evaluates various OSC procurement methods in accordance with the criteria importance weights. The results indicate that project quality, cost control, and funding arrangement are the prominent selection factors. On the other hand, the model reveals that the integrated project delivery (IPD) and construction management (CM) methods have the highest utility scores. The MCDM model has been validated by comparing the results with similar studies. The present study could assist OSC practitioners in selecting the appropriate procurement method for OSC projects.

Exploring the Critical Driving Forces and Strategy Adoption Paths of Professional Competency Development for Various Emergency Physicians Based on the Hybrid MCDM Approach.

The implementation of competency-based medical education (CBME) focuses on learners' competency outcomes and performance during their training. Competencies should meet the local demands of the healthcare system and achieve the desired patient-centered outcomes. Continuous professional education for all physicians also emphasizes competency-based training to provide high-quality patient care. In the CBME assessment, trainees are evaluated on applying their knowledge and skills to unpredictable clinical situations. A priority of the training program is essential in building competency development. However, no research has focused on exploring strategies for physician competency development. In this study, we investigate the professional competency state, determine the driving force, and provide emergency physicians' competency development strategies. We use the Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method to identify the professional competency state and investigate the relationship among the aspects and criteria. Furthermore, the study uses the PCA (principal component analysis) method to reduce the number of components and then identify the weights of the aspects and components using the ANP (analytic network process) approach. Therefore, we can establish the prioritization of competency development of emergency physicians (EPs) with the VIKOR (Vlse kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje) approach. Our research demonstrates the priority of competency development of EPs is PL (professional literacy), CS (care services), PK (personal knowledge), and PS (professional skills). The dominant aspect is PL, and the aspect being dominated is PS. The PL affects CS, PK, and PS. Then, the CS affects PK and PS. Ultimately, the PK affects the PS. In conclusion, the strategies to improve the professional competency development of EPs should begin with the improvement from the aspect of PL. After PL, the following aspects that should be improved are CS, PK, and PS. Therefore, this study can help establish competency development strategies for different stakeholders and redefine emergency physicians' competency to reach the desired CBME outcomes by improving advantages and disadvantages.

Risk Managed Cloud Adoption: An ANP Approach

To meet the ever-increasing demand for offering a sustainable environment, organizations are beginning to aim for cloud adoption and the migration of their IT infrastructure and operations to the cloud, utilizing various cloud-based technologies. However, cloud adoption has been impeded by the risk of being exposed as a result of a variety of concerns, including performance, security, and privacy concerns, as well as vulnerabilities and data portability. As a result, this study was carried out to investigate and analyse a variety of risks that come with cloud computing adoption by estimating the impact and frequency of these hazards. In this study, the Analytical Network Process (ANP) is used to prioritise these hazards. Prioritization of these risks based on their influence on cloud adoption may be useful for organizations in building a corrective action plan. According to their negative influence on cloud adoption, "business continuity and recovery planning" and "poor availability of services" are shown to be the most prominent hazards. This research also found that the two most common dangers encountered by cloud adopters in India are "poor availability of services" and "slow response rate."

Analytic Network Process and Tawhidi Strong Relationship in Managing Business of Sharia Commercial Bank

Islamic banking is a multiple microfinance management business concept. By determining solutions and examining their methods for present and future microfinance management, the Kema Logical Organization Cycle and Tawhidi String Relationship technique seeks to identify any problems or restrictions in existing financial conditions. Islamic banks employ techniques including Super Choice program support and Insightful Organization Interaction. Prioritizing stakeholders to boost collaborative R&I projects benefits: an analytic network process approach

A methodology was developed to prioritize stakeholders of a collaborative research and innovation (R&I) project in the circular bioeconomy area, towards enhancing its benefits from a multi-perspective point of view. The concept of R&I project benefits was broken down into criteria, evaluating different attributes related to the project outputs and outcomes, to the project management processes, and to the social, environmental and economic dimensions. The devised methodology was based on a combination of the analytic network process multicriteria decision making method and the key benefit categories from the P5 standard for sustainability in project management. The P5 standard has been shown to adequately frame the benefits to stakeholders of R&I projects in the topic of circular bioeconomy. Key benefits identified by the experts relate to the categories "society and costumers" and "consumption". The following stakeholders should have priority in the development of the project stakeholder management plan: research team members, leaders at the consortium organizations, project management team members and environmental NGOs. Future research will include a longitudinal study of the perceived stakeholder and benefit categories priority over time

Revenue management (RM) deals with selling the right product to the right customer at the right time at the right price through the right channel to maximise revenue. The innovation of RM lies in the way decisions are made. The performance of revenue management approaches can be evalu- ated against several criteria. Both discrete and continuous multicriteria models can be used to analyse RM. The performance pyramid is a comprehensive, fully integrated per- performance system that captures multiple perspectives such as internal, financial, customer and innovation. The assessment is based on a combina- tion of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Analytic Network Process (ANP) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approaches. Customer behavior modeling is gaining increasing attention in revenue management. Customer choice models can be extended with more inputs and more outputs. Evaluation of alternatives can be performed using DEA- based evaluation methods. The search for an efficient frontier in a DEA model can be formulated as a multiobjective linear programming problem. We propose to use an Aspiration Level Oriented Procedure (ALOP) to solve the problem.
