Aluminium metal matrix has a broad range of applications in automobile industry, aerospace industry, and other sectors. Its primary disadvantages include wettability, poor dispersion, and a long time period for chemical interaction between base matrix and reinforcement. They have an impact on MMCs’ corrosion and mechanical characteristics. It provides an outline of the fabrication method as well as the reinforcement employed in the synthesis of MMCs. As a result, reinforcements are classified according to their function and manner of application. By optimizing certain characteristics, disadvantages may be reduced and customized MMCs can be employed for a variety of applications. The paper primarily discusses reinforcement and matrix concerns, metal fabrication procedures, characterization, and various tests performed on aluminium metal alloys.
