In this article I propose a Foucauldian reading of the Hite Reports which constrct sexaulity as a political issue, calling for new politics of sex.My main aim is to analyse the discursive strategies adopted by the Hite Reports in their challenge to ‘dominant’ discourse on sex. These strategies centre on the problmatization of our curreent regims of truth,associated with what has been generalized as the ‘oppresssion of woman’. The Hite Reports constiute sexual norms as objects of ‘scientific’ analysis, as well as of political struggle. Their aim is to liberate subjugated knowledge which should serve to work upon the matrices of transformation of power/knowledge relations regarding sex. On the basis of ‘scientic’ results, which are claimed to express subjective experience, Hite formulates alternative truth gamesabout sexuality.
