Effect of ethanolic leaf extracts of Medicago sativa, Gongronema latifolium and Pterocarpus sanalinoides on the liver integrity of alloxan-induced diabetic albino rats

The study investigated the effects of ethanolic leaf extracts of Medicago sativa (MS), Pterocarpus santalinoides (PS) and Gongronema latifolium (GL) on the liver function profile and organ histology integrity of alloxan-induced diabetic albino rats. Sixty male rats were divided into 10 groups, made up of 1 group each of normal, diabetic, and positive controls, 3 treatment groups each of the single and pairwise extract combinations, and 1 group of the ternary extracts combination. Hyperglycaemia was induced in the treatment groups by a single intraperitoneal injection of alloxan at 150 mg/kg body weight. The positive control was treated with metformin (100 mg/kg), while the extracts were administered via oral intubation to the single (200 mg/kg of each extract), double (combination of 2 extracts at 100 mg/kg each) and ternary (combination of the 3 extracts at 66.7 mg/kg each) treatment groups for a total period of 4 weeks. Induction of diabetes significantly (p<0.05) increased AST, ALT and ALP activities and total bilirubin concentration, but treatment with metformin and the plants’ extracts significantly (p<0.05) reduced the enzymes activities and total bilirubin concentration to levels comparable to those of the normal control. Generally, the combination therapies had non-significantly stronger effects than the single extract treatments. Histological evaluation confirmed that combinatorial compared to individual extracts treatment reverted more the damage to the liver organ caused by alloxan induction. Thus, Medicago sativa, Pterocarpus santalinoides and Gongronema latifolium are possible lead plants for potential production of hepatoprotective agents.

SYNERGISTIC EFFECT OF FRUITS EXTRACTS OF Balanites aeqyptiaca AND Adansonia digitata ON LIPIDERMIC PARAMETERS OF DIABETICS ALBINO RAT

Lipidemia is a significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease, particularly in people with diabetes mellitus. High plasma triglyceride concentration, low HDL cholesterol concentration, and elevated concentration of tiny dense LDL cholesterol particles are some of its distinguishing features. Fruits from Balanites aeqyptiaca and Adansonia digitata have the ability to decrease blood pressure. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the combined effects of the two fruits on the lipidemia of alloxan-induced albino rats. Utilizing the glucose dehydrogenase method, glucometer accu-check was used for the evaluation of blood glucose levels. Investigations were also conducted on alloxan-induced diabetic albino rats to measure total cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL), and low density lipoprotein (LDL). According to the results, B. aegyptiaca and A. digitata fruit extracts significantly reduced the lipid profiles of the treated groups when used at concentrations of 80:20, 160:40, and 240:60 mg/Kg body weight, respectively. While the lipid profiles were significantly reduced in groups that received treatment at dosages of 100, 200, and 300 mg/kg body weight. However, the groups treated with the highest doses of the extracts demonstrated the most significant effects on the levels of triglycerides (47mg/dl), HDL (79mg/dl), and LDL (40mg/dl). The fruits have shown cumulative effects on their potential to lower the lipid profile of diabetic rats, validating their folkloric usage in the management of cardiovascular illnesses.

Effect of combined seeds of Sesemum indicum and Moringa oleifera compounded feed on liver function markers of alloxan-induced diabetic albino rats

This study investigated the effect of combined seeds of Sesemum indicum (SI) and Moringa oleifera (MO) on liver function markers in alloxan-induced diabetic albino rats. 54 albino rats were divided into 9 groups of 6 animals each. Group 1 served as the normal control and received standard feed diet, Group 2 (Diabetic control) received intraperitoneal injection of 140mg/kg of Alloxan, Group 3 (Positive control) received 5mg/kg of glibenclamide, Group 4; diabetic rats fed diet containing 15% of SI. Group 5; diabetic rat fed with 15% of MO diet, Group 6; diabetic rat fed with combination of 15% SI and 15% MO compounded diet. Group 7; diabetic rat fed with 30% of SI diet. Group 8; diabetic rat fed with 30% of MO diet. Group 9; diabetic rat fed with combination of 30% MO and 30% SI diet. The Feed was compounded and was given daily for 14 days. Serum alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), total protein, albumin, and bilirubin were estimated to assess hepatic function using spectrophotometric method. Results showed a significant decrease in ALT, ALP, AST, and bilirubin levels when fed with compounded feeds at (p<0.05). Also feeding of diet with combined seeds significantly (P<0.05) increased the total protein and albumin in induced rats. Overall, compounded feed with combined seeds of SI and MO exhibited a promising anti-diabetic activity and normalized the liver enzyme activities which appeared comparable to the control glibenclamide in alloxan-induced diabetes hence, may be recommended for treatment/management of diabetes mellitus.

HYPOGLYCEMIC ACTION OF ETHANOLIC EXTRACT OF LEAVES OF OXALIS CORNICULATA LINN. ON NORMAL AND ALLOXAN-INDUCED DIABETIC ALBINO RATS

Objective: The aim of the study is to evaluate hypoglycemic action of Ethanolic extract of leaves of Oxalis corniculata linn. on normal and Alloxan-induced diabetic albino rats.
 
 Methods: Hyperglycemia is induced by use of intraperitoneal injection of Alloxan and Adrenaline. After that test drug Ethanolic extract of leaves of Oxalis corniculata (ELOC) and standard drug Glibenclamide in administered. The hypoglycemic effect of ELOC is compared with the standard drug and control.
 
 Results: Significant hypoglycemic activity of ELOC was seen in Alloxan induced hyperglycemia when blood glucose levels were estimated from different tissues. Also, significant hypoglycemic activity of ELOC was seen in Adrenaline induced hyperglycemia.
 
 Conclusion: Ethanolic extract of leaves of Oxalis corniculata (ELOC) possess hypoglycemic activity.

Investigation of Antidiabetic Activities of Cu(II) Complex of Anacardium occidentale Leaves Crude Extract

Many synthetic chemical drugs have been widely used for the treatment of diabetes. However, many of these drugs are not locally available, are less effective, and are unaffordable for many diabetic patients in developing and underdeveloped countries. Therefore, in order to search for a locally available, effective, and cost-effective antidiabetic agent, this study synthesized the Cu(II) complex of crude leaf extract of Anacardium occidentale and investigated its antidiabetic activity in alloxan induced albino rats. The leaf crude extract and its metal complex were characterized using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and infrared (IR) spectroscopy. Experimental diabetic animals were induced by a single intraperitoneal injection of alloxan monohydrate at a single dose of 140 mg/kg body weight (b.wt.), and animals with fasting blood glucose levels (BGL) > 200 mg/dl were considered diabetic. Metformin was used as a standard drug. Fasting blood glucose level (BGL) and body weight were examined in assessing the antidiabetic activities of the crude extract and its complex in the rats. One-way ANOVA was used to determine the antidiabetic activity at a statistical significance level of p < 0.05. The hypsochromic shifts of C=O and O-H bands in the Cu(II) complex and the high concentration of the metal ion in the metal complex established the coordination of the crude extract with the metal ion. A more significant reduction in the blood glucose level and increase in body weight in alloxan-induced diabetic albino rats was observed when treated with the leaves crude extract and its Cu(II) complex than when treated with the standard drug metformin. It can be concluded that the Cu(II) complex of Anacardium occidentale leaf extract at a dose of 400 mg/kg wt is more effective without abnormal weight gain and could be considered as a potential antidiabetic drug to replace some of the less effective and expensive conventional antidiabetic drugs.

Hypoglycemic Effect of Olive Oil (Olea europea) on Alloxan- Induced Diabetic Albino Rats.

This research work is aimed at investigating the hypoglycemic effect of olive oil obtained from the seeds of olive tree (Olea europea,) on alloxan-induced diabetic Albino rats. The results obtained show that olive oil (Olea europea) exhibit hypoglycemic effect on alloxan-induced diabetic Albino rats with the lower dose (150mg/kg/b.wt). as the most effective dose for the significant treatment of type 1 diabetes. Medium and High doses however showed an insignificant effect compared to the control groups. When the, standard drug (positive control) 60 mg/kg/b.wt was administered to the rats , the glucose level of the group 2 alloxan-induced diabetic rats decreased gradually to the range between the normal range 4.9-5.5 mg/dl according to the world health standard (W.H.O, 2014). During treatment, the body weight of the rats was observed to increase as the rats responded to the hypoglycemic effect of the oil treatment. As the treatment continues, the rats look healthier which shows a positive response to the olive oil treatment.

Effect of Acalypha wilkesiana on Oxidative Stress and Histopathology of Liver and Kidney in Alloxan-induced Diabetic Albino Rats

This study investigated the effect of Acalypha wilkesiana on oxidative stress biomarkers as well as liver and kidney histopathology. 54 Albino rats were divided into 6 groups of 9 animals each including group 1 animals received only feed and water ad libitum; group 2 received 160mg/kg alloxan by the intraperitoneal route; group 3 received 0.07mg/kg of glibenclamide follow alloxan induction, while animals in groups 4, 5 and six received the aqueous leaf extract of Acalypha wilkesiana at doses of 100mg/kg, 200mg/kg and 400mg/kg following the induction. Three animals from each group were anaesthetized with diethyl ether and blood samples were collected by cardiac puncture on days 5, 10 and 15 into sample bottles containing anticoagulant for evaluation of oxidative stress parameters. Liver and Kidney samples were also collected from these animals and transferred into 10% formalin solution for the histological studies. Results revealed a significant increase in oxidative stress marked by decrease in oxidative stress markers such as CAT, SOD, GSH, GPx and increase in MDA values and pathological changes of liver and kidney following alloxan administration when compared with normal control. These changes were reversed by the extract in a dose dependent manner.

Hypoglycemic Activity Nyctanthes Arbor­Tristis LINN. IN Alloxan Induced Diabetic Rats

Medical science still faces difficulties in developing side-effect-free medications for diabetes management. This has increased the need for safe and effective natural remedies that may lower blood sugar levels. The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not an ethanolic extract of Nyctanthes arbor­tristis Linn. leaves reduces blood sugar levels in alloxan-induced diabetic albino rats. Nyctanthes arbor­tristis Linn. Ethyl Acetate extract activity was compared to that of the glibenclamide (0.5mg/kg p.o.) standard antidiabetic medication. Normal rats were given oral dosages of an Ethyl Acetate extract of Nyctanthes arbor­tristis Linn. leaf. At a dosage of 200 mg/kg, the Ethyl Acetate extract was significantly (p0.05) hypoglycemic. Leaves extracted with ethyl acetate from the Nyctanthes arbor­tristis linn plant have anti-diabetic effects on a par with those shown in diabetic control mice. Nyctanthes arbor­tristis linn leaf extract in ethyl acetate has been shown to have potent and non-toxic anti-diabetic properties.

Synthesis, Spectroscopic Analysis and Antidiabetic Properties of Copper (II) Complex of Mangifera indica Leaf Crude Extract

Many applied conventional drugs in treating diabetes have been reported to possess some drawbacks which necessitate a search for alternative therapies. In order to search for a more active antidiabetic agent, this study synthesized and evaluated antidiabetic properties of Mangifera indica crude extract and its Cu (II) complex in alloxan-induced diabetic albino rats. The leaf crude extract and its metal complex were characterized using percentage metal analysis and IR spectroscopic data. Experimental animals were induced by a single intraperitoneal injection of Alloxan monohydrate at a single dose of 140 mg/kg body weight and animals with fasting blood glucose level (BGL) > 200 mg/dL were considered diabetic. Metformin was used as a standard drug. Fasting blood glucose level and body weight were used to assess the antidiabetic activity. One-way ANOVA was used to determine the level of statistically significant at p< 0.05. The crude extract was found to coordinate with the metal ion through O donor atom of C=O and O-H of phenol and ketone respectively. The Cu (II) complex of the crude extracts at tested dose of 600mg/kg demonstrated more antidiabetic activity without weight gain than the standard drug. It is concluded that the Cu (II) complex could be a potential material in the development of more active and negative-side-effect-free antidiabetic drug.

The Effects of Metformin Treatment on Diabetic Albino Rats' Pancreas, Liver, and Kidney Histology.

Metformin, an oral hypoglycemic drug, has traditionally been considered the standard therapy for hyperglycemia. Metformin's several modes of action include inhibition of hepatic gluconeogenesis, anti-glucagon activity, and insulin-sensitizing effect. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Metformin on the liver, pancreatic, and kidney tissues of alloxan-induced diabetic albino rats. Twenty mature albino white male rats were allocated at random into two groups. Intraperitoneal injections of alloxan monohydrate were utilised to induce diabetic Mellitus type II in the first ten rats. The second group of rats were injected intraperitoneally with normal saline. Both groups were then separated into four subgroups: Group 1 consisted of non-diabetic rats that were only administered distilled water (control), Group 2 consisted of non-diabetic rats that were administered metformin at a dose of 1000 mg/kg/day, and Group 3 consisted of diabetic control animals that were administered alloxan intravenously and distilled water orally, but were not given any medications. After seven days of DM induction, diabetic rats were administered Metformin at a dose of 1000 mg/kg/day orally. After one month of therapy, the animals were slaughtered and their organs were harvested. Compared to the control group, the histological results of pancreatic tissue were normal in the treatment groups. In contrast, liver and kidney sections from non-diabetic control, non-diabetic, and diabetic animals given 1000 mg/kg/day of Metformin had normal histology. Still, both tissues of untreated diabetic control mice exhibited lymphocyte infiltration. Metformin has been found to have significant blood glucose lowering properties and the capacity to protect several organs from the negative consequences of diabetes.

Anti-Alzheimer and Antioxidant Effects of Nelumbo nucifera L. Alkaloids, Nuciferine and Norcoclaurine in Alloxan-Induced Diabetic Albino Rats.

The present study is aimed to determine the efficacy and dose response of the nuciferine (1), norcoclaurine (2) and crude extract of Nelumbo nucifera in managements of diabetes, Alzheimer disease and related allergies. Experimentally, alloxan (100 mg/kg body weight (b.w.))-induced diabetic rats (200–250 g) were divided into seven groups (n = 6). Group I: normal control, Group II: diabetic control, Group III: standard treated with glibenclamide and Group lV-VII: treated with methanolic crude extracts (100, 200 mg/kg), nuciferine and norcoclaurine (10 mg/kg b.w.) for 15 days. Different tests were performed, including blood glucose, body weights and antioxidant enzyme assays, i.e., superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase test (CAT), lipid peroxidation assay (TBARS), glutathione assay (GSH) and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) assay. Nuciferine and norcoclaurine significantly reduced blood glucose (p < 0.05) and restored body weight in diabetic rats. Moreover, nuciferine and norcoclaurine (10 mg/kg) significantly recovered the antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT, GPx and GSH) which decreased during induced diabetes. Significant increase in TBARS was also observed in the diabetic group and nuciferine as well as norcoclaurine (10 mg/kg) inhibited the increase in TBARS in diabetic animals (p < 0.05), as compared to glibenclamide. AChE activity was significantly recovered by nuciferine and norcoclaurine (10 mg/kg) both in the blood and brain of the diabetic group (p < 0.05). Nuciferine and norcoclaurine showed potent inhibitory effects against α-glucosidase and α-amylase with IC50, 19.06 ± 0.03, 15.03 ± 0.09 μM and 24.07 ± 0.05, 18.04 ± 0.021 μM, as confirmed by molecular docking studies. This study concludes that nuciferine and norcoclaurine significantly improve memory and could be considered as an effective phytomedicine for diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and oxidative stress.

Effects of Methanolic Extract of Mistiltoe (Viscum Album) on Alloxan Induced Diabetic Albino Rats

The plant Viscum album is used in folklore medicine to treat various diseases most especially diabetes mellitus. In this study, the antidiabetic potentials of the methanolic extract of Viscum album leave were evaluated using alloxan induced diabetes rats. Diabetes was induced using alloxan and 60mg/kg body weight. The diabetic rats were treated 1500 and 750 mg/kg body weight of viscum album leave extract and glinbenclamide was used as standard drug. During administration of extract, blood glucose level and body weight of the rat were being monitored at three days interval. There was a significant decrease in blood glucose level and body weight at three days interval. There was significant increases in (p&lt;0.05) in alloxan induced group after 21 days oral administration of the extract at 1500 and 750 mg/kg. Body weight shows significant reduction in total cholesterol, triglyceride, low lipid density, lipo protein when compared to diabetic control and high density lipo protein showed significant increase (&lt;p0.05) when compared to the diabetic control. Viscum album can be used in management of diabetes mellitus.

Ethyl Acetate Fraction of Total Phenols from Zanthoxylum zanthoxyloides Leaves Treated Alloxan-Induced Diabetic Albino Rats

Aims: Ethyl acetate fraction of total phenols from Zanthoxylum zanthoxyloides leaves was evaluated for its effects in alloxan-induced diabetic male albino rats.&#x0D; Methodology: Diabetes was induced in rats by administrating alloxan monohydrate at a dose of 130 mg/kg body weight. The ethyl acetate fraction was administered to rats at 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg b.w. daily for 15 days. Blood glucose, lipid profile and pancreatic histopathology were monitored using standard methods.&#x0D; Results: Results indicated that two weeks after treatment with Z. zanthoxyloides, significant (p&lt;0.05) reductions in hyperglycemic blood glucose, total cholesterol and low-density lipoproteins (LDL) were recorded; with lowest values recorded in the group treated with the highest concentration of the extract. Histopathological examination of pancreatic tissues supported the protective effect of Z. zanthoxyloides phenol extract against diabetic damage.&#x0D; Conclusion: In conclusion, total phenols of Z. zanthoxyloides exerted antidiabetic effects in alloxan-induced diabetic rats and protected pancreatic tissues from diabetic damage.

Anti-Diabetic Effect of Methanolic Extract of Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth Leaf on Alloxan-Induced Diabetic Albino Rats

Background: Diabetes Mellitus is a debilitating metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia due to insufficient insulin or inability of insulin receptors to respond positively to circulating insulin. Prevalence of the disease is on the global increase annually with tendency to rise from 380 to over 592 million by 2035 in developing countries. Toxicity of some Orthodox drugs in use has led to searches for alternative sources for treatment and management of the disease.&#x0D; Aim: This work was aimed at investigating the effect of methanolic extract of Albizia lebbeck leaf on Alloxan monohydrate induced diabetic albino rats.&#x0D; Materials and Methods: Qualitative Phytochemical analysis of the plant extract was carried out in Biochemistry Division of National Veterinary Research Institute Vom, Plateau State, Nigeria. Forty female Wistar albino rats were used for the study, divided into five groups (A-E) in two replicates. Group A- negative control (non-induced, not treated) and group B- positive control (induced with Alloxan - 120mg/kg body weight (b.w), administered intra-peritoneally but not treated). Groups C- and D- induced and treated with 100 and 200mg/kg b.w extract respectively. Group E- non-induced but treated with 100mg/kg b.w of extract. Diabetes was established on day 3 after induction. Blood samples were collected through retro-orbital plexus into Fluoride oxalate bottles on days 0, 3, 5 and 9. Glucose was estimated by Glucose Oxidase method.&#x0D; Results/Conclusion: Phytochemical analysis of the extract showed the presence of saponins, tannins, steroids, cardiac glycosides, flavonoids, alkaloids and terpenes. Glucose analysis results showed dose dependence and statistically significant reduction (p&lt;0.05) in blood glucose from 3rd, 5th and 9th days post induction following treatment with Albizia lebbeck in group C- 14.5±3.5, 10.4±4.6 and 8.4±3.7; in group D- 14.0±4.7, 10.2±3.3 and 6.5±2.5; and in group E- 5.0±0.6, 3.7±0.5 and 3.5±0.5 respectively. We conclude that methanolic leaf extract of the plant Albezia lebbeck (L.) Benth, possesses anti-diabetic properties effective on both normal and Alloxan-induced diabetic rats.

The Impact of Aqueous Leaf Extract of Soursop on Glucose and Lipid Profile in Alloxan Induced Diabetic Albino Rats

The blood glucose, total serum cholesterol, High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) and Triglyceride (TRIG) levels of all rats in each group were determined before induction, post-induction with alloxan and post treatment with various concentrations of extract and standard drug. The alloxan diabetic rats treated with gliberclamide and aqueous leaf extract of Annona muricata showed average means of body weights as; (235.73±3.14a, 263.94±2.25a and 236.5±1.74a) respectively after 4 weeks of treatment. The Glucose level revealed; 168.43±5.06e, 65.29±4.57f and 57.86±3.93e respectively. Lipid profile raised significantly post exposure of diabetic rats to both standard drug and extract after 4 weeks of treatment. Therefore, A. muricata compared favorably with the standard drug in the context of diabetes management.

L-Carnosine and Taurine Supplementation Attenuates the Intensity of Diabetes in Alloxan-Induced Diabetic Male Albino Rats

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder caused by defects in insulin production and insulin activity. l-Carnosine is a dipeptide containing histidine and beta-alanine and is present in animal muscles and tissues. The present study analyzed the anti-diabetic and antioxidant potential of l-carnosine and taurine in male rats with alloxan-induced diabetes. The experimental rat groups comprised normal control rats, diabetic rats, diabetic rats treated with 100 mg/kg of taurine and 100 mg/kg of l-carnosine, diabetic rats treated with 200 mg/kg of taurine and 200 mg/kg of l-carnosine, and diabetic rats treated with 600 µg/kg of glibenclamide. The treatments were administered orally for 45 consecutive days. Lipid peroxidation and reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels were substantially higher, by > 100%, in the diabetic rat serum and liver tissues. However, taurine and l-carnosine supplementation significantly reduced lipid peroxidation and ROS levels to close to control levels. Taurine and l-carnosine supplementation significantly improved superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, and catalase levels and reduced glutathione levels in diabetic rats. Total hexoses, sialic acid, hexosamines, and fucose increased in diabetic rats, whereas taurine and l-carnosine supplementation significantly reduced these total hexose, sialic acid, hexosamine, and fucose levels to close to control levels. Diabetic rats treated with taurine and l-carnosine exhibited significantly increased recovery of the normal size and cell count of islet cells in the β-cell region. Taken together, these data suggest that l-carnosine and taurine supplementation was effective against diabetes in rats with alloxan-induced diabetes.

Effect of Methanolic Extract of African Ebony (Diospyros mespiliformis) Stem Bark on Liver and Kidney Function Biomarkers in Alloxan Induced Diabetic Albino Rats

The effect of methanolic extract of African Ebony (Diospyros mespiliformis) on glucose level, liver and kidney function biomarkers in alloxan induced diabetic rat was investigated. The rats were grouped into four of ten (10) rats each. The rats in Group B, C and D were induced with 0.4mL of alloxan. Group C was treated with 0.3 mL of methanol stem back of Diospyros mespiliformis, Group D was treated with 1.3 mL of metformin; Group A non-diabetic and Group B diabetic untreated. There was a significance increase (P&lt;0.05) in serum glucose level (23.95±1.04mmol/L) of diabetic untreated rat when compared with the normal rat (5.59±0.22mmol/L) Group A. There was also a significant difference P&lt;0.05 in glucose level of the Groups treated with extract (15.90±0.29mmol/L) and Group treated with metformin (17.25±0.28mmol/L) when compared with diabetic untreated rat (23.95±1.04mmol/L). The effect of extract on Liver marker enzymes AST shows a significant (P&lt;0.05) decrease in the Group treated with extract (11.00±0.40U/L) and metformin (11.04±1.08U/L) when compared with untreated (12.88±0.53g/L). ALT showed significant (P&lt;0.05) decrease in the Groups treated with extract (11.05±1.07U/L) and metformin (11.02±1.11U/L) when compared with untreated Group (14.58±0.76g/L). There was a significance P&lt;0.05 increase of Total protein in untreated rats (66.00±2.26g/L) when compared with extract (11.25±1.15g/L) and treated with metformin (11.75±1.11g/L). There was a significance P&lt;0.05 decrease in ALB in diabetic untreated (41.25±0.25g/L) when compared with that treated with extract (57.25±4.37g/L) and metformin (60.20±1.88g/L) and untreated rats. The values of renal function, Urea (6.74±1.76) mMol/l for Group A, (6.50±1.56) mMol/l for Group B, (8.87±1.10)mMol/l for Group C and (8.44±1.21) mMol/l for Group D. Creatinine values (0.44±0.01) mMol/l for Group A, (4.02±0.36) mMol/l for Group B, (3.16±0.10) mMol/l for Group C and (0.46±0.10) mMol/l. The stem bark extracts possesses hypoglycemic effect and also has a positive effect on liver and kidney function biomarker.
