The subject of the research is counteracting the petty corruption. The relevance of the problem is due to the fact that ordinary people and private businesses are confronted with this type of corruption day by day in the process of receiving basic public services such as issuing passports, admission to schools, granting permits for running small and medium-sized businesses, etc. The purpose of the research was is to identify prospective areas for counteracting the petty corruption in Russia under conditions of the digital economy development. The possibility of using new digital technologies to combat the petty corruption in the context of the overall fight against corruption in the country is justified. A hypothesis has been accepted that not only reducing the grand corruption can affect the petty corruption, but the latter can also contribute to increasing the level of the grand corruption. Therefore, the paper focuses on studying the prospects of using advanced technologies to eliminate the petty corruption. It is concluded that digital technologies can increase the efficiency and transparency of the activities of government bodies and services in their interaction with citizens and businesses.
