Pengaruh Penggunaan Peralatan Kit Bahasa Inggris Dan Motivasi Belajar Bahasa Inggris Terhadap Prestasi Belajar Bahasa Inggris Siswa Kelas Iv Sd Negeri Impres Jalan Luku Tahun 2023

Mastering a foreign language becomes a necessity in this globalization era. This is because language is a vital instrument to communicate with people thus in other words, it is called the tool to communicate. In the workplace, one of the requirements that someone must be able to fulfill is that they have to master a foreign language, or at least to understand the foreign language used in books as well as foreign products using foreign languages, especially since the global market has emerged. Therefore, , we are all indirectly required to be able to speak a foreign language in order to keep up with the development of the increasingly advanced era. The formulations of the problem in this research are: (1) How is the effect of the use of English Language KIT tools on the English learning achievement of fourth grade students at State Elementary Schools in Sumbergempol District?; (2) How is the effect of motivation of learning English on the academic achievement of fourth grade students at State Elementary Schools in Sumbergempol District?; and (3) How is the effect of utilizing the English Language KIT tools and the learning motivation as a whole on the learning achievement of English of fourth grade students at State Elementary Schools? This thesis is useful for the author to broaden the insight into the mindset, attitude, experience that is by understanding the nature of the effect of the use of English Language KIT tools and the learning motivation on the student achievement in the process of learning English, especially in elementary schools.

THE CORRELATION OF STUDENTS’ MOTIVATION AND ENGLISH LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT

The objective of this study was to figure out whether there is any correlation between students’ motivation and English learning achievement at Grade XI Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Kota Bengkulu. In this research, the researcher used Correlational research in a quantitative design. In correlational method, the researcher used the correlation statistical test to describe and measure between two variables. The population of this study was the whole students of XI grade MAN 1 Bengkulu City with total students 355. The researcher took all of population as the sample of the research. Therefore, the sample of this research was about 350 students at eleventh grade MAN Model Bengkulu. To obtain the data, the researcher used questionnaire and documentation as the instruments of this research. The questionnaire of students’ motivation was adopted from The Attitude / Motivation Test Battery by R. C Gardner cited in (Rafasah, 2019). Moreover, the students’ learning achievement was identified by collecting the students’ English score in UTS or UAS or daily test. After collecting and analyzing the data, the researcher found that the sign. (2-tailed) Pearson correlation = 0.00 > 0.05 which means that there was a correlation between students’ motivation and English learning achievement at XI A students of SMAN 1 Kota Bengkulu. The researcher suggested for English teachers in developing some strategies to facilitate the students to have a good motivation. The researcher also suggested for the students to be more active in practicing English even though this research findings showed that the students’ motivation was good.

The Relationship between Parental Involvement and Students' English Learning Achievement of The Eight Grade Students in Palembang

The purpose of this study is to find out the extent of the relationship of parental involvement in the way to improve student’s English learning achievement. The proposed hypothesis is that there is a positive and significant relationship between parental involvement and learning achievement in English. This research belongs to the quantitative type of research, with a correlational analysis of product moments. The population of this study was all class VIII students with a total sample of 91 students. The results showed that the significance value was 0.00, because the significance was smaller than 0.05 (0.00 0.05), then Ho was rejected, and Ha was accepted. So, there is a relationship and high significance between parental involvement in student English learning achievement.

Peningkatkan Kemampuan Vocabulary Melalui Program “Weekly English For Kids” Bagi Anak-Anak Di Desa Pelem Kecamatan Pringkuku Kabupaten Pacitan Jawa Timur

Elementary school aged children in Pelem Village hamlet have trouble learning English. Meanwhile, children have high motivation to learn English but have not been well facilitated in the environment. The purpose of this service is to improve children’s ability to speak English properly and precisely; increase motivation to learn English; and improve academic achievement in learning English at school. The approach used is community service. Lectures, TPR (total physical response), questions and answers, ice breaking, and exercise are some of the techniques employed in this community service. Based on the results of the Weekly English for Kids program, which show that: (1) the children’s self-confidence has grown; and (2) the children’s ability to learn English seems to have increased, it is proven that the children have succeeded in working on worksheets with maximum results. In addition, the village government hopes that this community service will continue to improve children’s English skills.

The Students' Motivation and Achievement in Learning English: The Correlational Study

The students have a lot on their plates already, and one of the biggest is the academic activity. Researchers have shown a correlation between intrinsic motivation and academic performance. Students' English proficiency is also influenced by their level of interest and effort in learning the language. The purpose of this research was to determine if and how students at MA Muhammadiyah Darul Arqam Punnia Labumpung, Kab. Pinrang is motivated to learn English based on their academic performance. Students' interest in English and effort in studying the language were found to be significantly related. This was demonstrated by a correlational study on students' motivation and their performance on an English language test. The first piece of good news is that the SPSS 21 program's computed r value is greater than the table at both the 5% and 1% significant level (0.367 0.852 > 0.47). Second, the computation of the contribution between student motivation and achievement in English showed that student motivation (variable X) contributed roughly 72.59% contribution to the achievement (variable Y) of the sample class, while the remaining 25.41% was influenced by other factors.

Online Learning Readiness, Motivation, and English Learning Achievement in Higher Education

The present study aimed at investigating the correlations between online learning readiness (OLR) and motivation (M) toward English learning achievement (ELA). The study employed a correlational design by gathering quantitative data from 35 first-semester students at the English Education Department at a public university in Indonesia. The data were collected by distributing the OLR questionnaire, which was adapted from the Online Learning Readiness Scale (OLRS) developed by Hung et al. (2010), administering a motivation questionnaire adapted from Gardner’s (2004) Attitude/Motivation Test Battery (AMTB), and documenting the students’ midterm test scores, which represented their ELA. The researchers used Pearson product-moment correlation reliability to identify how well the test items correlated with the other variables. The data were then analyzed using SPSS 23 version. The result shows that the students exhibited OLR in “ready” level and “very high” motivation level to learn at the time of the research implementation. Both OLR and motivation had positive correlations with students’ ELA. OLR was strongly correlated to ELA with r=0.647 (sig.=0.000). Meanwhile, motivation had a lower Pearson correlation score (r=0.497, sig.=0.002) that showed a moderate correlation toward ELA. Hence, OLR contributed more to ELA than motivation.

Comparative Study of Introvert and Extrovert Students on Their English Learning Achievement at Second Grade of SMAN 1 Konawe Selatan

This research aimed to find out what characters were owned by students and which one had a better English score between introverted and extroverted students in grade-2nd students at SMAN 1 Konawe Selatan. This research used an ex post facto research design with a descriptive quantitative approach. In collecting data, questionnaires and documentation were used as instruments. The questionnaire was adapted from the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) which categorizes students into introverts and extroverts. The total population in this research was all students of grade-2nd in the first-semester academic year 2021/2022 as many as 160 students. The researcher only took 50 introverted students and 70 extroverted students as respondents. To analyze the data, it was though the technique; of data collection, data identification, data classification, explanation, tabulation, and data analysis used descriptive statistical techniques which are processed in SPSS 23.0 program and draw a conclusion based on statistical results. The results showed that from independent sample t-test had a probability value (sig.2-tailed) < 0.05, where to 4162 was higher than ttable 1.99 and 2.6. Based on the research results, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. In conclusion, the scores of extrovert students' English achievement are better than introvert students.

The Potential of ICT Tools for Achieving Better Achievement in Learning English for Specific Purposes in the Context of Hybrid Learning

Educational technology as an interdisciplinary field whose subject of study is the effective use of modern technology in education is very significant when we talk about changes within the educational system. Bearing in mind that educational technology includes both means and procedures used in the teaching and learning process, the goal of its application is to increase the efficiency of the teaching process itself, as well as student achievement in learning. The paper is based on the assumption that the application of ICT tools in the teaching ESP has the potential to contribute to the success of students in mastering the desired material. The research subject of this paper is the examination of the impact of the application of information and communication technologies in teaching on the learning ESP vocabulary at the academic level in the context of hybrid learning. With the aim of examining the mentioned impact, a survey was conducted on a convenient sample of 50 first-year students of the Faculty of Business Studies and Law and the Faculty of Information Technology and Engineering, UNION University "Nikola Tesla" in Belgrade. The obtained results are contrary to our expectations that teaching organized with the help of ICT will lead to a significant progress of the experimental group compared to the control group on the knowledge retest and indicate that although teaching generally leads to progress in the achievement of students of both groups, the use of ICT in teaching, in the way it was performed in this research makes no difference in terms of that progress.

Teaching Pupils EFL by Using Interactive Games

The goal of this study is to find how interactive games can inspire pupils to teach English as a foreign language (EFL). Pre- post tests have been used as a tool for collecting data and given to 60. The pupils have been then divided into two groups of 30, one for control and the other for experimental. The experimental group received games during language. courses and classes, whereas the control group received traditional courses. This study found that most teachers believe games have a positive impact on pupils' achievement in learning English and that using games in the classroom has many educational benefits. Game participation also increased EFL learners' ability to communicate with others.

The Correlation between Students’ Academic Self-Efficacy and Their English Learning Achievement at SMAN 1 Pekanbaru

The research objective was to discover whether or not there is a significant correlation between students’ academic self-efficacy and their English learning achievement at SMAN 1 Pekanbaru. The research applied quantitative approach with correlational research design,. The population of the research was 250 students of tenth grade at SMAN 1 Pekanbaru, meanwhile the samples were 70 students, who were selected using a cluster random sampling technique. The instruments employed in this study were questionnaire to measure students’ academic self-efficacy and secondary data that was taken from the exam results of students’ English achievement. To analyze the data, the researcher applied SPSS 25. The findings proved that the correlation coefficient between the two variables is 0.422 and categorized as ‘moderate’. In addition, the determinant coefficient of students’ academic self-efficacy is 0.1780. It was inferred that there is a moderately significant and positive correlation between two variables.

The Analysis of the Students’ English Achievement (A Case Study on the Students of Islamic Early Childhood Education of Islamic College of Auliaurrasyidin)

Today, mastery of more than one language becomes a phenomenon that attracts the attention of people, especially young people as the nation’s successor. However, the results of learning English for most students, including university students, are still very poor. This article aims to analyze students’ learning achievement, and provide an overview of the problems they faced in learning English. This study is qualitative research. This is focused on the English learning achievement of 1st semester students of the Islamic Early Childhood Education (PIAUD) Study Program of STAI Auliaurrasyidin. Data were collected using in-depth interview and documentation. They were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusions. The results showed that the students’ low English learning achievement were caused by the English sentence and grammatical structure that often confusing, poor of vocabulary knowledge that impacts on the difficulty in translating English sentences. In addition, lack of self-confidence also triggered students’ low learning achievements.

The Correlation of Students’ Academic Self-Concept Toward Student Learning Achievements in English Learning

This study aimed at determining the correlation between students' academic self-concept toward student learning achievement in English learning in grade XI of Social Class of SMA Jagadhita Amlapura. This study is ex-post-facto research with a correlational technique and survey method. The population sample of this study was 33 students in XI of Social Class at SMA Jagadhita Amlapura in the academic year 2021/2022. A Questionnaire of Academic Self-Concept and documentation of students' report cards were used to collect the data. Descriptive statistics, Pearson Product Moment correlation and determination test, were used to analyze the data. Based on the data analysis, it was found that there is no significant correlation between academic self-concept toward student learning achievement of XI Social Class in SMA Jagadhita Amlapura with correlation value (-0.283) and p-value (0.130) > 0.05. While based on the determination test, only 8% of academic self-concept explained the variance of learning achievement, and 92% was predicted by another variablvariablest not examined in this study. The results of this study are not following the theory and differ from previous studies, which mainly obtained results that there was a significant correlation between academic self-concept and learning achievement. This could be due to the small sample size cannot prove a significant relationship between the two variables of the study or other limitations in this study.

Predictive Roles of Language Learning Strategies, Academic Self-concept, Gender and Grade Level in English Language Learning Achievement

This study aims to identify the factors influential in academic achievement in learning English. The study was conducted with the participation of 522 students who were the ninth, tenth and eleventh graders in an Anatolian High school located in Ankara city centre. The research data were collected with the Turkish version of personal and academic self-concept inventory (PASCI-Fleming & Whalen, 1984) and of strategy inventory for language learning (SILL-Oxford, 1990) (Cesur & Fer, 2007). The data were then analysed through bivariate correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression analysis. As a result, significant correlations were found between academic achievement in English and all sub-factors of learning strategies and of academic self-concept (p<.01). It was found that all the variables analysed (gender as male students, grade 11 as class variable, language learning strategies, academic self) predicted 42% of the variance in academic achievement in English. In the study, it was found that cognitive, compensatory and metacognitive strategies which are language learning strategies positively predicted English academic achievement while affective strategies predicted negatively. In the academic self-dimension of the study, it was found that academic ability and family acceptance positively predicted academic success in English while physical appearance and social anxiety predicted negatively.

EXPLORING THE CORRELATION: STUDENTS’ INTEREST AND THEIR ENGLISH LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT

This research aim was to find out the correlation between students’ interest and their English learning achievement. The research question was “Is there any significant correlation between students’ interest and their English learning achievement?” This research applied correlational method. The subjects was the tenth grade students of SMKN 5 Makassar. The data was collected through questionnaire and English score documentation. In analyzed the data, the researcher used quantitative data analysis. The result of data analysis showed that there is positive significant correlation between students’ Interest and their English learning achievement at tenth grade students of SMKN 5 Makassar. This was proved by the coefficience correlation score rcount 0,814 > rtable 0,344 in 5% significant degree. Based on a correlational table, the correlation index (rxy = 0,814) is in interval 0.70 – 0.90, this means that the correlation belongs to “strong correlation”. Therefore, the higher the tenth grade students’ interest in SMKN 5 Makassar the higher their English learning achievement will be.

“The Correlation Between The Students’ Self Regulation and Their English Learning Achievement of The Eleventh Grade at MAS TI Candung”

This research was conducted since there were many problems that occur in students’ self regulation in studying English. The first problem is there were some of students had good self regulation in learning English, prepared well before learning, active in learning, pay attention when the teacher explained, and did the assignment that was given by the teacher. However the students’ English achievement was still low from standardization of minimum criteria. It means the some students have good self regulation, but low in English achievement. Second, some students did not have good self regulation in learning English, but their English achievements are good in. The students did not actively engaged in learnimg, they did not pay attention when the teacher explained the lesson, and they did not read the material before studying English, but their achievement in English were are good from standardization of minimum criteria. It means the students are low in self regulation, but their English achievements are good. This research aimed to know whether there is correlation between students’ self regulation and students’ English learning achievement in studying English.The design of this research was correlation research. Then, the instruments that used in this research were questionnaire for measuring students’ self-regulation and documentation in the form of the students’ mid-semester English test scores for measuring the students’ English learning achievement. The population of this research was all of the eleventh grade students of MAS-TI Candung in the academic year of 2021/2022 which consists of 5 classes. The sample was 30 students taken by simple random sampling technique. To find that self-regulation and English learning achievement have correlation or not, the researcher used Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The finding of this research revealed that the coefficient (ρ) between students’ self-regulation and students’ English learning achievement was 0.690. It means, there is high correlation between students’ self-regulation and students’ English learning achievement. In other words, based on hypothesis testing, the t-score was 0.690 and t-table on α = 0.05 was 0.361. It means the t-score was higher than t-table. Hence, Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected which stated that there is a significant correlation between students’ self-regulation and students’ English learning achievement.

The Effect of Using Idiomatic Expression and Conceptual Metaphor on EFL University Students Achievement

The Conceptual Metaphor (CM) is a relationship between source and target domains that maps into the exact meaning. (CM) improves EFL learners' performance and achievement in learning English and increases their ability to understand the words, idioms, and phrases in a foreign language. As a result, metaphors play a greater role in the learning and teaching of idiomatic expressions. Although, the meaning of idioms is not entirely predictable; there is some systematic logical reasoning for their meaning, as the great majority of idioms are predicated on conceptual analogies and metonyms. However, we must recognize that there are culturally dependent conceptual systems and that metaphors are pervasive in English language and so intimately tied to learning English. Finally, future studies should focus on conceptual metaphors and not neglect them because they are very important in our daily events and life.

Non-EFL students’ perspectives on English learning in higher education institution: The case of Indonesian non-English major

The annulment of English subject at the elementary and tertiary levels harms the absorption of graduates. This decision needs to be reviewed whether it follows current conditions where graduates are required to be able to compete globally. Competition becomes increasingly problematic because students lack continuous English learning. This study aims to reveal the perspectives of non-EFL students on learning English in their faculties and how the association between English learning achievement scores and their perspectives on the language they are learning is related. It involved 45 students from two non-English faculties who studied English only as a general course. Our statistical calculations using correlation analysis found that most non-EFL students had an optimistic viewpoint on English and hoped to be provided with it continuously. In addition, the analysis also found that the achievement scores in English lessons had a significant positive correlation with their perspectives.

Bengkel Inggris Program For Enhancing English Potencial

The era of rapidly developing scientific and technological progress has opened up opportunities for international communication through English. The study was conducted to analyze the potential of elementary school students in English skills in Klambir Lima Kebun Village. Realizing this reality, the "Bengkel Inggris" program is offered to be one of the solutions. The program further investigates the causes of their difficulties in English. In addition, the " Bengkel Inggris " program is not only a place to learn English but also a place for consultation about English. As a result, there was an increase in both classes as seen from the scores on the pre-test, cycle 1 test and cycle 2 test. In the basic English class, the scores are 65, 73.5 and 89.5 while in the intermediate English class the scores are 65.83, 73 and 88.75. Therefore, it was concluded that English Workshop is a program to improve the English learning achievement of elementary school children in Klambir Lima Kebun.

Influences of motivation and grit on students’ self-regulated learning and English learning achievement: A comparison between male and female students

This study investigated the influences of motivation and grit on students' self-regulated learning (SRL) and achievement in English as a foreign language (EFL), and compared such influences between male and female students. A total of 723 primary students in Hong Kong participated in this study. Results of MANOVAs indicated that there were generally no gender differences in students' motivation, grit and SRL strategy use in EFL, except for growth mindset, but female students had a better level in English learning achievement than male students. Results of two-group structural equation modeling (SEM) suggested that grit was the greatest predictor of SRL strategy use for both male and female students, and self-efficacy predicted all students' critical thinking and English learning results. Unexpectedly, intrinsic motivation only predicted male students' English learning results, and growth mindset only predicted male students' English learning results and female students' critical thinking. Implications for future research and EFL teachers to promote male and female students’ SRL strategy use and English learning are discussed.

The Influence of PUBG Mobile Online Game on the English Learning

This study aims to determine the English learning achievement of students playing the PUBG Mobile online game and the effect of the PUBG Mobile online game on students' English learning. The method used in this study was a descriptive design. The participants of this study were selected using purposive sampling technique, in which 15 students from class XIa, and 15 students from class XIb. This study used documents (English test scores) and a Likert scale questionnaire as instruments. This study found that the average English achievement score of class XI MAN 2 Banda Aceh students who played the PUBG Mobile online game was 62, in the unsatisfactory category. Besides, the influence of the PUBG Mobile online game on the English learning of class XI MAN 2 Banda Aceh students had 90% negative effect. Therefore, it can be concluded that the PUBG Mobile online game had a negative impact on the students' English learning achievement.
