Analyzing student interest in using AI-powered audiobooks for mathematics learning

Artificial intelligence is currently indicated as the fourth industrialization in education. Furthermore, learning about AI has become part of the elementary school curriculum in all countries. Audible books (audiobooks) are a valuable AI resource that can enhance students' interest in reading. Therefore, this study aims to analyze students' interest in using AI-based audible books for mathematics learning. Data were collected using a quantitative approach and statistical analysis. A total of 75 people consisting of 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade Elementary students were selected as respondents. The results indicate that students show a strong interest in using audiobooks for mathematics learning. This interest is reflected in high levels of enthusiasm, enjoyment in reading, and a positive attitude toward using audiobooks, with most students expressing happiness, enjoyment, and a keen interest in this approach. Developing Nearpod-Based Interactive Multimedia on the Topic of Indonesian Cultural Diversity for 4th Grade Elementary School Students

This research aims to create a valid, practical, and effective Nearpod-based interactive learning media to improve learning outcomes of social sciences content on the material "Indonesian Cultural Diversity." This is development research with the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Based on the results of the expert assessment, the validity of the product obtained a score of 92.18% with the criteria of "very valid" in the aspects of suitability of material and learning objectives, language, media display, excellence, and media use. Material validation scores on aspects of accuracy with learning objectives, students' level of thinking, language, and supporting aspects (videos, images, quizzes) also fall into the "very valid" category with a score of 95%. Based on student responses to the content of the material, ease of use, material display, linguistic aspects, and readability of the material are also in the very valid category, with a percentage of 91%. Based on the N-Gain calculation of students' pretests and post-tests, Nearpod media received a score of 0.74 from 22 large group students, while six small group students obtained a score of 0.8 in the "High" category, as well as the material achievement score from the N-Gain results of 92.3% with the "Very Good" category, which means that 26 out of 28 students get scores above learning objective completeness criteria (KKTP).

Effectiveness of Exploratory activities Based on Engineering and Science Practices of Next Generation Science Standards in Developing Exploratory Thinking among Elementary Students

The present research paper aimed to identify the effectiveness of exploratory activities based on engineering and science practices of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in developing exploratory thinking among elementary students in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The author utilized the quasi-experimental method based on the control and experimental groups. Moreover, the sample consisted of (64) 4th grade elementary female students. The "Unit of Energy" was restructured based on engineering and science practices of NGSS among the 4th grade elementary students. A teacher guide and a student notebook concerning the activities of the "Unit of Energy" were prepared. Moreover, an exploratory thinking test was developed and applied to the participants over 6 weeks. The results showed statically significant differences at the level of ≤0.01 between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups at exploratory thinking post-test and in each domain. The study recommends the need for teacher preparation programs at Colleges of Education on preparing the pre-service teachers according to NGSS that should be involved in teaching practices to evaluate pre-service teachers’ performance in practicum.

Motor competence and compliance with physical activity recommendations in Chilean schoolchildren.

The development of motor competence is thought to be a crucial precursor to raising the trajectory of PA throughout a person's life. The objectives of this study are to determine motor competence and the daily time of moderate and vigorous physical activity of students in 5th and 6th grade elementary in Chile, and to establish whether there are differences in motor competence according to sex and compliance with physical activity recommendations. 368 schoolchildren (M = 11.10 years; 54.3% girls) participated. To assess motor competence, the MOBAK 5-6 test was used. Physical activity was measured using ActiGraph wGT3X-BT® accelerometers. Boys (M = 3.65, SD = 2.14) showed better performance than girls (M = 2.39, SD = 1.80) in Object Control (p ≤ 0.001, PS = 0.67). For Self-Movement, the girls (M = 2.72, SD = 2.14) performed better than the boys (M = 2.40, SD = 1.86); however, there were no significant differences between the two sexes (p = 0.257). Boys (M = 48.4, SD = 22.8) presented more daily minutes of moderate and vigorous physical activity than girls (M = 35.9, SD = 16.9), with statistically significant differences (p ≤ 0.001, PS = 0.67). About MC according to compliance with the physical activity recommendations, only in Object Control there is a statistically significant difference (p ≤ 0.001; PS = 0.29) between the students who comply with the recommendations (M = 4.28, SD = 2.12) and those who do not achieve the recommended minutes (M = 2.67, SD = 1.29). By contrast, an analysis of Self-Movement found no significant difference (complies: M = 2.73, SD = 1.97; does not comply: M = 2.54, SD = 2.04; p = 0.408) between the two groups. It is necessary to generate instances that develop motor competence in all its dimensions to promote higher levels of moderate to vigorous physical activity.

Liveworksheet Interactive E-Module Effect on Equal Fractions Comprehension at 4th Grade Elementary School

This study seeks to investigate the impact of utilizing the liveworksheet interactive e-module on the comprehension of equal fractions among fourth-grade pupils. This study employed a quantitative methodology, utilizing a quasi-experimental design. The research design employed is a posttest control only-control group design. The sample size for this study consisted of 26 children who were in the 4th grade at SDN 2 Kejambon. The investigation employed a simple random sampling technique. The instrument comprised six descriptive questions. The data analysis was conducted using a T-test as a prerequisite test, including normality and homogeneity tests, with the assistance of SPSS software. The results obtained from the T-test analysis include a t-value of 2.311 and a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.030, which is less than 0.05. The results obtained from the T-test investigation include a t-value of 2.311 and a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.030, which is less than 0.05. The liveworksheet interactive e-module was found to have an impact on the comprehension of the Equal fraction idea. Subsequently, invalid hypothesis (H0) that is “There is no significant difference in 4th grade student mathematic comprehension, both liveworksheet interactive e-module and video-based learning.”, rejected. Whereas the first hypothesis (H1), that stated “There is significant difference in 4th grade student’s mathematic comprehension, between liveworksheet interactive e-module and video-based learning”, considered as valid.

Improving Skill Indonesian language in 4th grade Elementary School Students of the Macro Role Playing Approach

Through the use of role-playing, this study seeks to improve 4th-grade pupils' command of the Indonesian language. Students from SDN 1 Waringin in the fourth grade make up the research subjects. The role-playing technique is expected to enhance students' command of the Indonesian language, according to the study's action hypothesis. The study, which was conducted as a classroom action research project, spans three cycles. The outcomes show that the role-playing method can successfully increase students' command of Indonesian vocabulary, as indicated by their (1) better and fluent pronunciation of vocabulary, and (2) improved comprehension and application of vocabulary, progressing with each cycle. The following findings may be taken from the conducted research and discussion regarding the application of the macro role-playing learning approach to increase Indonesian vocabulary among 4th grade students at SDN 1 Waringin: The implementation of the macro role-playing learning method can enhance learning outcomes in the subject of Indonesian language, specifically in the material of student interviews for 4th-grade students in Waringin. The research findings indicate that in Cycle I, the average class score was 74.5, although it had not yet reached the defined classical mastery level of 80%, achieving a classical mastery percentage of 75%. The Effectiveness of the Flipped Classroom Learning Model on Improving Learning Outcomes in 4th Grade Elementary Students of IPAS Subjects at SDN Mayong Jepara

This study is experimental research with the aim to determine the effectiveness of flipped classroom learning on the learning outcomes of IPAS subjects for fourth grade elementary school students in Mayong Jepara. The sample used in this study totalled 50 students, of which 25 students from SDN 1 Kuanyar as the experimental class and 25 students from SDN 1 Sengonbugel as the control class. The data collection technique used was a test instrument to both class groups that produced data on student learning outcomes. The data was analysed using the independent sample t-test by looking at the results of Sig. (2-tailed) 0.013 <0.05 and the increase in the mean score where the learning outcomes in the Experiment class had an average value of 84.28 while in the control class had an average value of 79.08, the experimental class results had a higher mean score than the control class. So it can be concluded that the test results show the effectiveness of the use of flipped classroom learning on student learning outcomes. The Effect of a Flipped Classroom Model on Students' Learning Outcomes in Islamic Religion Education for 6th-Grade Elementary School

This study aims to determine the effect of the Flipped Classroom Model on students’ learning outcomes in the subject of Islamic Religious Education for 6th-Grade Elementary School. The research design uses quasi-experimental, with a population consisting of 6th-grade students at "Excellent Children Elementary School” in Gresik City, East Java Province. Of a total of 36 students, they were grouped into two classes randomly, with 18 students in the control group and 18 students in the experiment group. Data collection was carried out through a performance test to assess Al-Quran reading ability and understanding of its contents. The pre-test was carried out before applying the Flipped Classroom Model as initial data. After the intervention, a post-test was given to evaluate the effect of the flipped classroom model. The collected post-test data were subjected to statistical analysis using the t-test to compare learning outcomes between the control and experimental groups. The results of the Independent Samples T-Test show a significance level (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.001, which indicates that the value of 0.001 is smaller than the standard significance level of 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Flipped Classroom Model has a positive effect on students’ learning outcomes in the subject of Islamic Religious Education for 6th-Grade Elementary School students. These findings highlight the potential for innovative learning approaches to enrich teaching and learning experiences in Islamic Religious Education, fostering a more engaging and effective learning environment for students in elementary schools. Suggestions for future research, namely, research can explore how the Flipped Classroom Model can increase cooperation and collaboration between students in the learning process. This kind of study can open opportunities to integrate social aspects and positive social interactions in the use of the Flipped Classroom model. As well as conducting a study of the factors that influence the implementation of the Flipped Classroom Model can help identify challenges and obstacles that may be faced by teachers and students in implementing this learning model.

Development of Learning Tools With Flipped Classroom Models to Train Critical Thinking Skills for 4th Grade Elementary School Students

This development research aims to describe the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Flipped Classroom Model Learning Devices to Train Critical Thinking Skills of Grade IV Elementary School Students. The learning tools developed are teaching modules, Student Worksheets (LKPD), Student Teaching Materials (BAPD), and Critical Thinking Tests. The method used is the Thiagarajan 4D Research and Development model: Define, Design, Develop, and Dessiminate. The same research was previously conducted using the 2013 curriculum, with research subjects ranging from high school to university students. In this research, the development of learning tools used an independent curriculum with the subject of fourth-grade elementary school students. Data collection techniques are carried out through validation, observation, and tests. The results showed that the Tools Validity Score (TVS)) for teaching modules had 3.64 very good criteria, student worksheet had 3.54 very good criteria, Student Teaching Materials had 3.73 very good criteria, and a critical thinking test had 3.66 very good criteria. The practicality of learning tools in terms of the implementation of learning by the teacher in the class obtained 97.25% very good criteria, and the activeness of students obtained 84.65% very good criteria. While the effectiveness of learning tools obtained from the N-Gain analysis of pretest and posttest results obtained 0.57 moderate criteria. The results obtained indicate that the learning tools developed are very feasible as learning media for fourth grade students.

Strengthening the Literacy and Numeracy of “Kampus Mengajar 4” Program in the Education Unit Medan Belawan State Elementary School

Kampus Mengajar is one of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education programs (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka), which provides a platform for students to be independent in determining their future by learning outside the classroom. On this platform, students become teacher partners in the learning process in the fifth-grade class. The students accomplished the program activities at school for 108 working days or five months, starting from August to December 2022. One of the learning programs is to improve Literacy and numeracy learning at the basic education level. Methods of strengthening literacy learning are selecting particular reading texts for the elementary level, basic literacy concepts, good practice of literacy strategies, and the School Literacy Movement. The method of implementing reinforcement for numeracy is to provide good practice of numeracy strategies through games and media to improve students' numeracy. The learning outcomes were based on the result scoring test of the Minimum Class Competency Assessment students at the 5th grade elementary in the target school.

Analysis of the Student Numerical Literacy in Completing the Division Count and Multiplication Operation of the 6th Grade Elementary School Round Number

The background of this study is that students are unable to solve the problems and problems of daily life and which of the students associated with literacy, are unable to think critically and be able to reason in understanding the concept of division operations and multiplication integers. The aim of this study was to describe numerical literacy in the division and multiplication operations of integers in 6th grade elementary school. Research type use descriptive with a qualitative approach. Research instrument consist of interview instrument, observation instrument, and test subject. Research has found no significant obstacle, the study subject can complete most numerical literacy components on the test issue. Research subjects has not been able to dominate numerical literacy of patterns and statistic intact, but some of the components appearing on the subject have not been fully resolved.

The Development of Totor Gala Traditional Game Learning Video Using Nearpod Application for 4th Grade Elementary School Students

This study aims to develop “Totor Gala” traditional game learning video using the Nearpod application that are appropriate for elementary school students. The type of research in this research is Research and Development (R & D) with the Borg & Gall model of 7 of 10 steps. The research subjects were 4th grade students at Elementary School 41 Bengkulu City. The research instrument uses document analysis sheets, needs analysis sheets, validation sheets. The validation sheet is used to measure the feasibility of the video from the material and media aspects. Data collection techniques using document analysis, observation, questionnaires and tests. Data were analyzed through qualitative descriptive data and quantitative descriptive data analysis. The results of the research are in the form of learning videos of the Totor Gala game using the Nearpod application which contains material on cultural literacy and contemporary values. Media is suitable for use based on the validation results of material and media experts, as well as trials in schools with the "very valid" category. This product can be used as material for cultural literacy and the development of sportsmanship in 4th grade elementary school students.

The Effectiveness of Development Digital Picture Story Books to Improve Science Learning Outcomes on 5th Grade Elementary School Students

Elementary school students need direct experience and learning objects that can drive the pace of their cognitive development. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the development of digital picture storybooks integrated with videos and worksheets on the learning outcomes of elementary school students. The development model used in this research is ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluate). This study involved fifth-grade students at SDN 3 Krack as research subjects. Based on the results of the material valiator and media validation test, scores of 84.44% and 80% were obtained in the appropriate category. The product was tested on a small scale and obtained an average pre-test science learning result of 50.66 and a post-test of 72.33 with an n-gain of 0.43 in the medium category, and the results of the t-test obtained count 20.05 ≥ t-table 2.306. In the large-scale trial, the average pre-test in science learning outcomes was 60.5 and 76.33 in the post-test with an n-gain of 0.40 in the medium category, and the t-test obtained tcount 31.25 ≥ ttable 2.069. The researcher concluded that the developed digital picture storybooks were effective in improving the science learning outcomes of elementary school students. CORRECTING THE MISCONCEPTIONS OF 6th GRADE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS ABOUT PHOTOSYNTHETIC MATERIALS WITH THE HELP OF ANIMATED VIDEOS


 
 
 
 Abstract: Science subject is one of the subjects that contains abstract concepts. These abstract concepts can cause students to have difficulty building knowledge resulting in misconceptions. This study describes how the use of animated videos can correct the misconceptions of 6th grade elementary school students on photosynthetic materials. The method of data collection is done by means of observation. Data analysis was carried out by comparing the misconceptions test results before and after using the animated video. The data obtained are presented naturally and then analyzed descriptively to get an overview of the facts. The use of photosynthetic animated videos in this study showed significant results in 6th grade students at SDN Tunge 2 Kediri for the 2022/2023 academic year. There was a drastic decrease in the percentage of misconceptions, namely 72%. It means that video animation can be used to increase students' understanding of photosynthesis material.
 
 
 

Vocabulary Mastery: An Analysis of 4th Grade Elementary Students Taught by Non-English Education Graduate Teacher

The lack of students' ability in vocabulary makes learning English a little hampered, almost all classes experience the same thing in terms of weak mastery of vocabulary. However, especially in grade IV, vocabulary mastery is lower than the others. In mastering vocabulary in each theme, the teacher sets a minimum standard of ten mastered vocabulary. But in fact, there are still many students who do not master the ten vocabularies. Most of the difficulties in pronunciation and writing. Teacher competence is the set of knowledge, abilities and beliefs that a teacher has and displays for teaching situations. Teachers who teach not according to their field can confuse their students, apart from confusing their students, the material presented is also not detailed, or only limited to the concepts. Teachers are also considered unprofessional in teaching. This study aims to describe vocabulary learning by non-English education graduate teacher in teaching English vocabulary to fourth-grade students. This research uses descriptive qualitative with classroom observation, distributing questionnaires to students and teacher interviews as data collection techniques. Data analysis was carried out by classifying teacher interviews obtained through audio recording transcripts and student questionnaire results. The participants in this study were an English teacher and all fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 1 Tanjung Anom. The result shows that the students’ vocabulary is lack, because learning resource is limited, and the background of teacher is non-English education graduate teacher. The learning media used is an English dictionary book. The material taught is writing and reading. The obstacle experienced by teachers who teach English is that the teacher finds it difficult when teaching English because they are not from their major, and the learning facilities are still limited, there are no textbooks in schools.

The Development of Learning Media for 6th Grade Elementary School Solar System Courses-based on Android with Virtual Reality Technology

<p>This study aims to: (1) create learning media for android-based solar system subjects with virtual reality technology and (2) determine the feasibility of learning media for android-based 6th-grade solar system subjects with virtual reality technology. Solar system learning media for Android-based 6th-grade elementary school with virtual reality technology was developed using the Luther method through 6 stages: concept, design, material collection, manufacture, testing and distribution. The concept stage determines the objectives, materials, and content of the learning media that will be developed. The design stage is determining the material and storyboard. The material collection stage includes determining learning materials, Unity 3D assets, images, audio and others that support the learning media. The manufacturing stage is making learning media according to the predetermined design and storyboard. At the testing stage, we validated the product with media experts, material experts, and users. At the distribution stage, it produces media in the form of *.apk, which is uploaded to Google Drive. The validation of learning media is seen from the assessment of media experts, material expert assessments, and user assessments. Ratings obtained from all these aspects are 91.9% from media experts, 88.3% from the material, and 71% from users. The results of the three assessments have an average of 83.7%. From these results, it can be concluded that this learning media can be used as a learning medium.</p>

The Effect of Learning Styles on Learning Outcomes of 4th Grade Elementary School Students

The main problem in this study is whether student learning styles influence the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Nogotirto. This type of research is quantitative or experimental research with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study were fourth-grade students, and the sample of this study used a saturated sample using the total number of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Nogotirto. Twenty-five students of class IVA and 25 students of class IVB. The instruments used in this study were a learning style questionnaire, pretest and posttest sheets of student learning outcomes. The results showed that the data analysis used descriptive and inferential analysis. The results showed that the inferential statistical analysis used the Independent sample t-test formula with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 21 Software. The 2-tailed significance value was 0.043 <0.05, so based on the decision-making provisions, it can be concluded that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. It means that there is an influence of learning style on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students of SD Negeri Nogotirto.
