MODEL PBL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPS

The purpose of this research was improve the students achievement in learning social science used PBL of 4th grade elementary school. Types of this research was classroom action research with qualitative and quantitative approach. Subject of this research were students of 4th grade were 18 people consist of 8 men and 10 women. Research conducted in two cycles with research procedure includes of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The result of research was improve a) Lesson plan the cycles of I was 76,78% and the cycles II of 92,86% b) Implementation teacher’s activity of I cycle was 75% and II cycle was 92,86% while implementation students activity of I cycle was 73,22% and II cycle was 92,86% c) the students learning outcomes in the I cycle was 75,89 and II cycle was 86,82. It can be concluded that used PBL model can improve students achievement in learning social science of 4th grade at SDN 25 ATS Kota Padang.Keywords: Learning outcomes, Social science, PBL

Effect of Play Approach Against Learning Outcomes in Soccer Games

In general, the purpose of this action research study is to improve learning outcomes of dribbling in a football game through a play approach to physical education. In addition, this study was conducted to obtain information about the application of the play approach for grade VI elementary school students and find out the effectiveness, efficiency and improvement of learning outcomes of dribbling in football games for physical education for 6th grade elementary school students. This action research research uses a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were grade VI students of SD Negeri Janji, North Sumatra. To test the effectiveness of playing approach patterns can be seen from psychomotor data and results of dribbling tests in football games. In the results of the previous learning test (pre-test) obtained 30% of the expected criteria. While the level of effectiveness in the pre-test through the play approach was obtained 70% of the suggested criteria. Then proceed through the pattern of playing approaches in the game of football, the level of effectiveness in the post test obtained 86% of the expected criteria, meaning an increase of 66%. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that: (1) with a play approach to physical education, students can learn more effectively and efficiently, and improve learning outcomes dribbling. (2) with a play approach pattern, students are more motivated and active in following the learning process.

Program unaprjeđenja dentalnog zdravlja djece Zubna putovnica

ObjectiveThe need for improving oral health in the Republic of Croatia was based on health indicators and poor oral health status and resulted in the implementation of measures to improve the use of dental health care for schoolchildren through the national program called “Dental Passport”, which began in the 2017/2018 school year.PurposeThe aim of this study was to present the content and results of its implementation and to analyse them with emphasis on the sustainability and inclusion of the program and its implementation in preventive activities and procedures.Material and MethodsThe data were collected from the completed “Dental Passport” forms from September 2017 to August 2018. The dental examinations and diagnostic-therapeutic procedures were recorded in The Central Health Information System of Croatia.ResultsIn the school year 2017/2018, 24,729 6th grade elementary school students visited a dentist. The response rate in the Republic of Croatia was 68%. According to the CEZIH data, in the period from September 1 to December 31 2017, an increase in the number of first examinations and diagnostic-therapeutic procedures was observed in children aged 12 years, compared to the same period in 2015. The least reported preventive procedures in preschool children and 6th grade students were fissure sealing and sealing restorations, while motivating and instructing children on oral hygiene were the most common reported procedures.ConclusionGood organization of work in school medicine provides the basis for the implementation of dental programs involving schoolchildren. However, greater motivation of the dental health care provider in the implementation of preventive procedures and motivation of parents and patients for a more active involvement in the “Dental Passport” program are important determinants in further implementation and improvement of oral health in children.

PENGARUH MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA PESERTA DIDIK KELAS V SD

Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengaruh penerapan antara model PBL dan model DL terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah Matematika peserta didik kelas V SD. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas V SDN Ledok 02 Salatiga sebagai kelas eksperimen (PBL) dan SDN Ledok 07 Salatiga sebagai kelas kontrol (DL). Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu eksperimen semu. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika materi volume bangun ruang kubus dan balok. Kemudian analisis data dilakukan melalui uji Independent Sample T-Test berbantuan program SPSS 25 for windows. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah (1) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan penerapan antara model PBL dan model DL terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah Matematika di kelas V SD, (2) terjadinya perbedaan peningkatan dalam kemampuan pemecahan masalah Matematika peserta didik kelas V SD dilihat dari diagram komparasi yang menunjukkan bahwa lebih berpengaruh menggunakan model PBL dengan persentase hasil data pretest sebesar 69% dan posttest sebesar 80% . Sedangkan yang menggunakan model DL diperoleh persentase hasil data pretest sebesar 66% dan posttest sebesar 73%.

Analisis Evaluasi Formatif dalam Pembelajaran IPA di Kelas 4 SDN 07 Pagi Tegal Alur

Integrated learning must be based on student learning needs. Systematically in its development, it is necessary to have a formative evaluation to improve the quality of instructional programs and to be used as a reference or reference material to improve and improve the content or material of the learning outcomes. Formative evaluation in SDN 07 Pagi Tegal Alur on the subject of 36 students in elementary science learning is done by using test and non-test techniques. The test techniques used are multiple choice and description, non-test techniques using question and answer instruments, discussions, interviews, questionnaires, and observation. The results of the research on the use of formative evaluation in learning science in 4th grade elementary school proved to be effective based on the results of the pre-test and post-test.

Como o aluno analisa uma crônica sem o narrador da história?

O presente artigo tem como objetivo ensinar a alunos do 5º ano do Ensino Fundamental I procedimentos de leitura a fim de que eles desenvolvam um comportamento leitor. Dessa forma, o intuito deste trabalho foi tornar observável para os alunos crônicas construídas com a presença ou não do narrador. Assim, foi necessário criar uma sequência de atividades com questões inferenciais que implicam, provavelmente, a tomada de consciência sobre o objeto de conhecimento. Para tanto, o trabalho está fundamentado na concepção interacionista sociodiscursiva (BAKHTIN, 2016; DOLZ, GAGNON, DECÂNDIO, 2010; SCHNEUWLY, 2004) e nas ideias de Vigotski (2007, 2009), ao discutir o processo da tomada de consciência e as relações de interação social que permitem o avanço significativo no aprendizado e no desenvolvimento do aluno, entre outros autores. Os resultados apontam que ao fazer boas intervenções, elas conduzem o aluno a refletir sobre o texto estudado, tornando observável os aspectos linguístico e notacional usados pelos autores. Em conclusão, ensinar os procedimentos de leitura permite que, posteriormente, o aluno possa fazer escolhas dos elementos que compõem uma narrativa para os seus próprios textos.

The development of the pictorial stories about solar panels for elementary schools

The main objective of this research was to produce a prototype of a pictorial story with the topic “Processing Solar Thermal Energy into Electric Energy”. This product could be used as a supplementary book for Grade IV of Elementary Schools. This product was made based on the limitations of the material in the 2013 Curriculum student book and the needs in the classroom. Research & Development (R & D) method was applied in this research, with six stages: (1) Potential and problem analysis, (2) Data collection, (3) Product Design, (4) Product validation, (5) Product Design Improvement, (6) Product Design Testing. The data gathering technique applied interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The product was approved by two validators with the average score of 3.16 (from a range of values 1-4); and was included in “good” category; so, it was worth testing in a student learning activity, after being revised. After implementing in 4th grade elementary school students, the product obtained an average score of 3.58 which was included in “very good” category. As the result, the prototype was worth to be implemented as a learning medium which was also a means of literacy in supporting the “Gerakan Literasi Sekolah” (school literacy movement).

O aluno com altas habilidades/superdotação em escola ribeirinha na Amazônia

In this study we investigated the student with high skills/giftedness in a riverside School in Amapa’s Amazon with possibility of inclusion in school? A research based on the qualitative approach was conducted, from the following problem question: How has the inclusion of a student with high skills/giftedness at a riverside school in the city of Mazagao in the state of Amapa been taking place? The study aimed to analyze the inclusion process of students with high skills/giftedness from the 1st to the 5th grade of elementary School. The locus of the research was a riverside school located in the municipality of Mazagao in the state of Amapa. For data collection, semi-structured interviews, observation and photographic recording were performed. The participants of this research were a teacher of the student's class with high skills/giftedness, a teacher of specialized educational attendance, a student with high skills/giftedness, a pedagogical coordinator and the school principal. The collected data was analyzed from the definition of the Aprioristic Category: school inclusion, as well as other intermediate categories and final categories that, in the case, are the non-aprioristic ones that emerged from the theoretical framework adopted in the research and Empirical research. As a result, this study brings significant theoretical and practical contributions to the process of inclusion of students with high skills/giftedness in this riverside School in the Amapa’s Amazon. The results showed that there are difficulties in the process of inclusion of this public related to various aspects such as the formation of teachers and of the entire school team, infrastructure, the organization of classrooms, among others, as well as, demonstrate the importance of research in this universe to strengthen theoretical-practical questions related to inclusion.

Remediation program with automatized naming and reading for students with dyslexia: elaboration and clinical significance.

Elaborate a remediation program with rapid automatized naming and reading, as well as to verify the clinical significance of the elaborated program for students with dyslexia. The study involved five students from 3rd to the 5th grade of elementary school, aged 8 to 12 years, of both genders, with an interdisciplinary diagnosis of dyslexia. All students were submitted to pre- and post-test application of metalinguistic skills and reading test, reading comprehension and rapid automatized naming test. The analysis was performed using the JT method that allowed to verify positive or negative change and clinical significance in the post-testing. The results showed clinical significance in the tests of identification, syllable addition and combination, final and medial phoneme; in addition to nonwords repetition, real words and pseudowords reading, reading comprehension and rapid automatized naming test when comparing the pre- and post-testing. The elaborated program was efficient and applicable as an intervention instrument based on scientific evidence for students with dyslexia since it showed clinical significance for reading performance.

The Effect of Students 'Reading Ability and Learning Motivation Towards the Ability to Solve Mathematic Stories Story V SD in Padang City year 2019/2020

This study aims to determine 1) whether reading ability has an effect on the ability to solve math story problems in grade V SD in Padang teaching 2019/2020; 2) whether there is an effect of student learning motivation on the ability to solve math story problems in grade V SD in Padang City, 2019/2020 teaching; and 3) whether there is an effect of reading ability and student learning motivation on the ability to solve math story problems in grade V SD in the city of Padang teaches 2019/2020. The results showed that the results showed that the effect of reading ability on the ability to solve math story problems was F 23.86> F 4.15. The influence of learning motivation on theme 6 sub-theme 1 learning 4 is F 68.27> F 4.15 and the influence of reading ability and student learning motivation on the ability to solve math story problems F 62.78> F 4.16. So it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between reading ability and student learning motivation on the ability to solve math story problems in 4th grade elementary school students in Padang City 2019/2020.

Reading comprehension in dyslexic schoolchildren after an intervention program.

To develop a Speech-language Pathology (SLP) program and verify its effects on the reading comprehension of dyslexic students. Participants were eleven 4th and 5th-grade Elementary School students, eight boys and three girls, aged 9-11 years, diagnosed with developmental dyslexia. All individuals underwent the therapeutic program, which was composed of 16 sessions divided into four levels of complexity. A text adapted according to the Cloze technique and reading comprehension and orthography tasks were used in each session. The schoolchildren had their reading comprehension assessed pre- and post-program using a text available at the Test of Reading Comprehension of Expository Texts, adapted for application of the structural Cloze technique without support, according to the Evaluation of Reading Comprehension Levels. The participants showed better performance in reading comprehension at the post-program assessment not only in the filling of blanks in the text adapted according to the Cloze technique and in the Responses to Reading Comprehension Questions, but also in the level of reading comprehension achieved. The SLP program improved the reading comprehension performance and increased motivation to reading of dyslexic schoolchildren. Both the Cloze technique and the Reading Comprehension Questions were useful tools to develop and identify changes in the reading comprehension of the students assessed. This study is relevant because it prepared and verified the effects of a specific remediation program for schoolchildren with dyslexia by proposing the use of texts adapted according to the Cloze technique combined with other various tasks of reading comprehension and orthography.

Improving Student’s Factual Knowledge with Concrete Media through Observing Activities in Scientific Approaches in Elementary Schools

The current conditions in Indonesia show that student activities in the learning process tend to be passive which impacts factual knowledge. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of concrete media in improving students' factual knowledge through observing activities. This study was quasi-experimental, designed in a non-equivalent post with only a control group. The population examined where the 4th-grade elementary school students in the 2013 curriculum pioneer school, Buleleng Regency. A total of 353 students were randomly sampled, and a group of 56 students was identified to take part. Data were collected on students' factual knowledge using objective tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, namely modus, median, mean, and inferential statistics, i.e., the t-test. The results of the t-test analysis with t-count were greater than the t-table, 5.46 > 2.00. Thus, it can be concluded that observing learning activities assisted by concrete media has a positive effect on students' factual knowledge in an elementary school. This finding will have implications that will lead to an increase in the factual knowledge of students in elementary schools by using concrete media through observing activities.

Ensino de ciências por investigação: contribuições da leitura para a alfabetização científica nos anos iniciais

Este texto é um recorte da pesquisa desenvolvida no Mestrado profissional em Ensino de Ciências e Matemática. Ele parte da ideia de um Ensino de Ciências que ofereça aos estudantes a possibilidade de utilização dos seus conhecimentos científicos na compreensão e na interação com o mundo a sua volta. A investigação consistiu no desenvolvimento de uma Sequência de Ensino Investigativa (SEI), intitulada “Como se forma um arco-íris no céu?”, junto a uma turma de 5º ano do Ensino Fundamental da rede municipal de Arapiraca-AL. O objetivo consistiu em analisar as contribuições da leitura de textos do gênero textual lenda para a promoção da Alfabetização Científica em uma turma do 5º ano do Ensino Fundamental, por meio da abordagem didática do ensino por investigação. Para nortear a pesquisa, partiu-se da seguinte problemática: Quais as contribuições da leitura do gênero textual lenda na promoção da Alfabetização Científica de estudantes de uma turma do 5º ano do Ensino Fundamental, por meio do ensino por investigação? Assim, buscou-se na Abordagem Qualitativa os pressupostos metodológicos que consistiu em uma pesquisa de aplicação, utilizando como instrumento de coleta de dados o desenvolvimento da Sequência Didática composta por questões abertas. Os resultados apontam que a leitura de textos, no ensino de Ciências, permitiu a inclusão dos estudantes na cultura científica por meio da aprendizagem de conceitos, ampliação de vocabulário, compreensão da natureza das Ciências e formação de cidadãos críticos e conhecedores de seus direitos e deveres na sociedade.

This paper aims to overcome the practical limitations and problems of Dokdo education as a subject of subject matter, and to link Dokdo education with music subjects, and more specifically to this article shows the possibility of the linkage with. To this end, the eight music textbooks were reviewed for the 6th grade elementary school music to confirm the direct music contents related to Dokdo, and if so, the specific contents of the music and the direction of inclusive education suitable for Dokdo education were presented. In addition, this study examined the possibility of linkage and utilization with Korean traditional music in music textbooks by setting keywords suitable for the content elements of Dokdo education. In particular, the purpose of this article is to help the connection of Dokdo education through the music subject at the school site by presenting the contents of Dokdo education about one or two times related to Korean music in eight music textbooks.

Effectiveness of the Math Word Problem Intervention for Students with Math Underachievement: Case Studies on Word Problem Solving Strategies

This study examined and analyzed the effectiveness of the math intervention program with word problem solving strategies on 4th, 5th, and 6th grade elementary school students with math underachievement. A total of six students were selected as participants based on the screening test results and teachers’ recommendation and placed in either Tier 2 or Tier 3 according to the dynamic RTI model. All participants engaged in 14-16 intervention sessions with explicit instructions of math word problem strategies. Students’ progress monitoring evaluation was conducted through pre and posttests along with formative assessments in between, and analysis was done based on the students’ performance rate and percentile rank. As per the curriculum-based measurement (CBM) scoring guidance, the evaluation of the students included correct digit grading in addition to the formula and answer grading. Each student’s results are shown in these domains of correct digit, formula and answer. Further educational implications and study limitations are discussed.
