Abstract

Cs 3FeSe 3 could be synthesized by reaction of caesium carbonate with iron and selenium in a stream of hydrogen. The crystal structure was determined from single-crystal diffractometer data (space group Cmca, Z = 8). The atomic arrangement is characterized by edge sharing [Fe 2Se 6] double tetrahedra separated by caesium ions.
