Abstract

The article entitled, A Forgotten ‘Compendium’?, consists of four sections. In section one, Beata Bilicka recalls the roots of the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the reasons that led to it being published in 2005, and section two briefly presents the main points of its content. Section three of the article lays out the results of an analysis of selected religious textbooks used in the gymnasium (junior high school), which are examined in the light of their use of the CCC and the Compendium. Finally in section four, the author addresses the need for the proper reception of the Compendium in Poland, giving some suggestions as to how it might be used in school catechesis.
