Abstract

A satisfaction with job of employees in health institutions is a very important parameter that affects the quality of health care, as well as the employee motivation. The aim of this study was to evaluate different aspects of job satisfaction among employees in health institutions of Sumadia district. Employee satisfaction survey was conducted in 13 health facilities in Sumadia district. We conducted a one-day survey of 2.770 employees, 02.12.2013., using a uniform, anonymous questionnaire developed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia within the program of improvement of the quality of health care facilities functioning. The results show that one third of employees is satisfied with the work they now performe, and dissatisfied is every ninth subject. There is a high degree of dissatisfaction with the work equipment in service, as well as with the available time to perform the job. Every fifth employee feels physical and emotional exhaustion associated with the work, and tiredness at the thought of the work is present at every ninth subject. 31.4% of the employees are dissatisfied with their monthly salary. The job related experience and satisfaction of the employees, indicates the need for placement of employee satisfaction on priority in the process of improving the quality of the health care system.
