Abstract

Krynica-Zdroj has been attractive for tourist due to its natural beauty and infrastructure for over two centuries. Nowadays, the resort development is associated largely with the development of recreational services and sports. The localization of gondola lift on Jaworzyna influenced the intensification of skiing in the region and the change of the guests structure in the resort. Today, in Krynica-Zdroj municipality there are seven ski resorts, including two resorts in Tylicz. The survey conducted in the ski season in 2012/213 aimed at determining customer preferences of ski stations and the use of ski infrastructure.. The analysis was conducted in two most popular ski resorts: the large ski complex Jaworzyna Krynicka and the family station Master-Ski in Tylicz. The survey also referred to the ski station Arena Slotwiny. Based on the results it is concluded that all tested stations have gained recognition among customers. It was confirmed by justified specialization of ski lifts made by investors. Customers of ski stations show high consumer activity in relation to other sectors of economy: hotel industry, catering, services or trade. Further development of Krynica-Zdroj municipality should continue to be strongly associated with winter sports simultaneously with the consolidation of ski infrastructure and expansion of ski tourism.
