Abstract
In this in column, we highlight the roles of women in organizing some IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) summer training programs this year as well as the upcoming 2020 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS) that is in preparation for next year. Organizing a summer training program or an international scientific conference is a major undertaking, but it can also be a professionally enriching and personally rewarding activity. For this issue of IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Magazine (GRSM), we highlight the roles of IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) in terms of these important GRSS training and scientific conferences.
