Abstract

Many bio-seed-based biofuels have been exposed to be a better replacement for fuels derivative from fossil fuels in the agriculture and transportation sector. In the Indian context, due to the energy needs, agricultural growth, surrounding degradation, and rural development, these biofuels have achieved an acknowledgment as an alternative. It's the current diesel engine. In the biodiesel, the Nanoparticles have been dispersed. If the additives are appropriately applied to the biodiesel, it will improve the engine's output characteristics. As combustion additives release energy to the fuel, nano additives enhance thermal efficiency. The current research is to study the effect of Ruthenium oxide Nano additives on the efficiency and emission characteristics of Jatropha biodiesel in a single-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine were used. Results revealed that the optimized B20 + 100 ppm of the Ruthenium oxide fuel blend has a more significant impact. It had nearer performance, reduction in CO and HC emissions lowered than B20. Also, a small amount of NOx emission has been increased compared to B20 at peak load.
