Abstract

A manufacturing method for recycling EPS polystyrene foam from packaging waste of density 10, 15, 20, and 25 K/m3 pure and mixed with Al2O3 powder to form a composite material was investigated. The EPS recycling method was by compression with the application of different loads at temperatures of 25 °C and −15 °C to obtain the pure compressed material and mixed with Al2O3 for both types of compressed materials. The mechanical, thermal, and physical properties were determined. The results obtained from the research show that the change in properties makes them suitable for applications in engineering fields.
