Abstract

The objective of this research is to study the removal of disperse yellow (DY) dye from its aqueous solution, by the Nanocellulose surface prepared from (Cellulose microcrystalline for TLC). The properties of the adsorbent surface were investigated by SEM, FT-IR, TGA, XRD, techniques. The effect of PH, temperature, equilibrium time and the adsorbent dosage on the (DY) dye adsorption was studied. The result showed that the contact time was 10 min and the optimum adsorbent weight is 0.005 g. The adsorption isotherm of the (DY) dye was of the (S-type) according to the Giles classification and is more fit to the Freundlich equation. The negative values of (△G°) and negative values of (△H°), showed that the adsorption process of (DY) dye was spontaneous and Exothermic respectively. The kinetic result indicates that the adsorption process obeys the pseudo-second-order.
