Abstract

Some of your patients may be people like me, an active baby boomer trying to stay in good shape. A lot us are also trying to take care of ourselves by addressing modifiable health risks, including medications to reduce cholesterol levels. One of the more popular classes of medications for this purpose is the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, often referred to as statins. Table 1 lists some of the common drugs in this category. Philip J.
