Abstract

A 4 × 4 dual-polarized patch antenna array working at Ku band is proposed in this paper. Based on the slot-coupled structure, via holes are inserted into the substrates around the feeding lines to improve the impedance matching. In order to enhance the isolation and flexibility for planar antenna array, the feeding network is designed on two separated substrates. In addition, the anti-phased technique is also employed to reduce the cross-polarization level. Numerical results indicate that the presented antenna can realize an impedance bandwidth of 16% for horizontal polarization and 16.8% for vertical polarization with VSWR less than 1.6. The isolation between two feeding ports is larger than 47 dB and cross-polarization levels are less than −40 dB in principal planes.
