What and How Do I Remember from My Meetings with Tadeusz Różewicz

Abstract

Accepting the invitation of the „Tekstualia” quarterly, the author enters his memories in the thematic issue entitled The Voice of a Poet. Tadeusz Różewicz on the 100th Anniversary of His Birth. It consisted of a dozen or so meetings. Their entry did not become an anniversary card, which Różewicz certainly does not need. The author attached to these memoirs several postcards received from the Poet. He preceded his memories with a short discussion of two volumes of correspondence with his friends Jerzy Nowisielski and Ryszard Przybylski, which introduce the epistolary „spirit” of Różewicz. In the end, he included a short impression about „religious” poems of Różewicz constituting a kind of buckle to his several-year-old acquaintance with the Poet.
