Abstract
On the basis of various historical sources, including legal acts, archive documents, journalism, periodicals, materials of public congresses, the problems of sanitary and hygienic working conditions, everyday life, nutrition of students of craft workshops are analyzed. Violations related to handicraft apprenticeship and measures taken by the state and the public to curb negative phenomena were revealed.
