Abstract

This paper presents an application of the spline strip method based on the high-order shear deformation Donnell's shell theory to analyse vibration of thick laminated cylindrical panels with two opposite circumferential edges simply-supported and some boundary conditions on the remaining two straight edges. To demonstrate the accuracy and convergence of the semi-numerical method, the results are compared with those obtained by the first-order shear deformation shell theory. Stable convergence and good accuracy are obtained. The comprehensive comparison of both the high-order shear deformation Donnell's shell theory and the first-order shear deformation Donnell's shell theory is studied for graphiteepoxy laminated cylindrical panels with some boundary conditions.
