Abstract

This paper presents an application of the spline strip method based on the first-order shear deformation Sanders shell theory to analyze vibration of antisymmetric angle-ply laminated cylindrical panels with two opposite circumferential edges simply supported and varying boundary conditions on the remaining two straight edges. To demonstrate the accuracy and convergence of the semi-numerical method, the results are compared with those obtained by the classical shell theory and by the first-order shear deformation shell theory. Stable convergence and good accuracy are obtained. The effects of the geometric parameters and material parameters on the frequencies of graphite-epoxy laminated cylindrical panels with some boundary conditions are analyzed.
