Abstract

With new technologies being integrated into the existing power system infrastructure and current plants aging, it is increasingly important to maintain accurate dynamic models. A method to individually validate plant component models is proposed, and then is applied to the Mostar hydroelectric power plant using field data obtained during maintenance tests. This validation methodology is also tested in simulation. When the plant’s model is proven invalid, we propose to re-identify a new model.
