Abstract

Water influence is strong factor in thermal power plant and hydroelectric plant. It is used for cooling function beside power generation to have electric in power plant including hydroelectric power plant. Hydroelectric power plant (HEPP) is more sensitive with environment water quality than thermal power plant. Many indicators for water monitoring are used in power generation including hydroelectric. Six of indicators monitoring in hydroelectric are sedimentation rate, Langelier Index for corrosion tendency, mercury, lead, and sulfide acid. High sedimentation rate and high corrosion tendency will reduce relative life of hydroelectric power plant especially for dam and material of hydroelectric and high content of mercury, lead, are not original river water quality. Sedimentation rate and sulfide acid in the water will have correlation with life of hydroelectric (including dam of them). Sulfide Acid is strongest factor for corrosion. Saguling and Mrica are part of Indonesia hydroelectric. Saguling hydroelectric is in West Java and water from Citarum River. Mrica Hydroelectric is in Central Java and water from Serayu River. Result monitoring of sedimentation rate and sulfide acid and Langelier Index (one of corrosion indicators) for Saguling and Mrica that Mrica has smaller rate sedimentation than Saguling. At the same time Saguling has bigger value for sulfide acid than Mrica and Langelier Indexs Mrica is bigger than Mrica. That mean corrosion tendency in Saguling is easier than Mrica which it will have corrosion impact for material of hydroelectric because sulfide acid is strongest factor for corrosion tendency. And water in Saguling River has higher mercury and lead than water in Mrica. That mean Searyu River is better condition than in Citarum River because Citarum River has more pollution. Finally Mrica is longer life than Saguling HEPP and Serayu River is better condition for human life
