Abstract
In this paper a typology of translation errors from Polish into German is presented. The basis for the analysis are Polish names of dishes translated into German; examples of such translations can be found on the menus of Wroclaw restaurants. The point of departure for our considerations is Hejwowski’s approach (2006). It was possible to distinguish additional types of errors due to their diversity. In our article we indicated types of errors occurring in the translation of culinary names and areas which must be taken into account in such translations.
