Abstract
Explore the studies on natural products in fish farms becomes necessary because the market is increasingly demanding about the quality and sustainability of the product. The fish farmers are adapting to the new market parameters as quality, safety and disposal of pollutants, such as antibiotics and carcinogens used for aquaculture activities. This literature review aims to evaluate a number of plant extracts and their prophylactic or therapeutic properties for some diseases in fish farming with the aim providing scientific and technological advances for the sector. Plant extracts, such as the garlic essential oil, are widely studied because they contain prophylactic or therapeutic properties for some diseases in fish farming.
