Abstract

In this work there are presented some examples of the use of thermodynamic modeling to development of new alloys for different segments and applications. By the use of thermodynamic modeling coupled with numerical simulations of heat transport and mechanical simulations, it was possible to optimize the rolling and heat treatment routes in order to improve the properties of specialty steels and alloys. The use of the thermodynamic modeling it is also important to the development of new alloys which consider from its conception the process variables, simplifying the development of the new materials in the pilot and industrial scale
