Abstract

Primary care providers (PCPs) care for a more diverse population than ever before. PCPs must practice cultural humility to address inequities in health outcomes. The project aimed to introduce Appreciative Inquiry (AI) as a method to begin conversations surrounding cultural humility and raise awareness about its importance. Nurse practitioners working in primary care in both rural and urban settings participated. Results indicated that AI did impact PCP understanding and use of cultural humility in practice.
