Abstract

An effective method of production of high-quality fused periclase and periclase-chromite clinker by melting briquettes based on melting of caustic dust recovered from exhaust gases and containing SO42− in the form of sulfates has been developed. The method makes it possible to utilize the most finely dispersed caustic dust with the optimum content of the sulfates of alkali and alkaline earth metals for the production of fused materials, to eliminate from production of them type PMSP-93 fired magnesite powder, which is in short supply, and to use it only for the production of critical refractory parts.
