Abstract

We have started the engineer teacher training according to the Bologna systems in 2006. Since 2011, we have been educating mentor teachers at Obuda University Trefort Agoston Centre for Engineering Education — OU TACEE. Mentor teachers can support the preparation process of our engineering teacher students in secondary vocational schools by coaching their teaching practice. The content and methodology has been changed in education process in passed period. It would be an essential expectation from engineer and mentor teachers to use educational technology and build Info-Communication Technology — ICT — into their training process. In 2015 we had organized a comprehensive research together with my colleagues, measuring their ICT application in teaching learning process. The goal of survey was to define how deeply are ICT equipment embedded in their daily life; how determining ICT the mentoring and educational practice, and what kind of opinions they have about usefulness of ICT in their work. According to our hypothesis, application of ICT equipment and tools is typical in education and mentoring activities of engineer and mentor teachers. However the results of research emphasized us we have to focus the development of digital competencies because in spite of positive attitude there are basic lacks in digital literacy.
