Abstract

Since 2011, we have been educating mentor teachers in four semester postgraduate courses. Mentor teachers can support the preparation process of our engineering teacher students in secondary vocational schools by coaching their teaching practice. Therefore updated educational technology is important in their studies. It was important and interesting to get acquainted with mentor teachers’ presentation skills, their knowledge about, preparedness and success on that field. In 2016 we organized a survey to measure mentor teachers’ presentation skills and how they can transfer information in teaching learning process and their professional life. For the survey, we had elaborated a questionnaire. The purpose of the questionnaire was to survey the mentor teachers’ presentation skills and their transfer of information in four parts. The goal of the survey was to define how frequently they use presentations in their work, what kind of lack they have in editing process and how we can support their application of presentations in mentor and teaching work. We elaborated a hypothesis: We have to emphasize the development of mentor teachers’ presentation skills in our training and support them to learn the effective information process. In this study we describe, more than the basic elements of the survey was shown previously. More detailed evaluation of data will be shown especially concerning the practice and expectation of mentor teachers. The survey raised our attention to the fact that the further development of the presentation skills needs methodological upgrading of our teaching process.
