Abstract

Abstract: We have constructed two strains of bacteriophage λ to meet the requirements of an EK2 host vector system as established by the NIH Advisory Committee on Recombinant DNA Research. Both strains rely on the λgt·λC system devised originally by Davis and his colleagues (1). Here we describe some of the properties of these vectors and their use in cloning a specific Eco Rl fragment of mouse DNA which encodes extensive portions of the mouse ribosomal genes.
