Based on the reactivity difference between aryl iodides and the stoichiometric ratio used, the authors have developed an unsymmetrical version of the Ullmann cross-coupling with a convenient catalytic system of Pd(OAc)2/K2CO3/MeCOEt to afford unsymmetrical biaryl products in good yields.
