Abstract

The Evening Session of the Thirty‐Second Annual Meeting was called to order by President Waiter H. Bucher at 20h 05m, Monday, April 30, 1951, in the Lecture Room of the National Academy of Sciences, 2101 Constitution Avenue, Washington, D. C. About 200 were in attendance. After preliminary and welcoming remarks, President Bucher introduced John Putnam Marble, who arranged the Symposium on the Measurement of Geologic Time. After introductory remarks, he in turn introduced the authors, Raymond C. Moore and Edward McCrady, who presented their papers as set forth in the Program [see pp. 306 and 313]. He then introduced J. Tuzo Wilson of the University of Toronto, who presented very recent data secured by means of the new mass spectrograph of the University. Discussion followed, including remarks by Robert C. Herman of the Applied Physics Laboratory of Johns Hopkins University.
