Effort thrombosis of the axillo/subclavian vein (Paget-Schroetter syndrome) is often a misdiagnosed syndrome, which consists of a venous compression at the upper thoracic outlet. It affects athletes, and workers with repetitive, forceful, or overhead arm activities.
