Abstract

AbstractThis paper is a systematic review of 19 resources showing the relationship between semantic web and ontology and answers several queries on the implications of this relationship on knowledge representation and real-life solutions in various industries. PRISMA guidelines were used to select the papers and the authors focused on the most important 10 resources papers to investigate the research questions. It is concluded that semantic-web ontologies are one of the solid foundations of knowledge representation and suggested further research on focused industry to further elaborate on a specific implications of semantic web ontology on knowledge representation and associated proposed solutions in a specific industry.KeywordsOntologySemantic webSystematic reviewKnowledge managementMetadata
