Abstract

This research aims at making a diagnosis of safety and health conditions of workers in the administrative areas and teachers of the South Central Zone of the National Open and Distance University UNAD. The study allowed the researchers to carry out each of its methodological stages, starting with understanding current conditions on safety and health at work, continuing with the implementation of the information gathering instrument, with the obtained data the results were analyzed, this allowed researchers to identify current risk factors and to suggest strategies to help prevent them. The study was conducted under the quantitative design. The sample consisted of 186 workers corresponding to 90.51% of the total population. The information was obtained after applying a questionnaire developed and validated in the implementation of the Second National Survey of Health and Safety Conditions at Work, by the Ibero-American Social Security Organization (ISSO) and the Ministry of Labor; the information is presented in bar graphs; the result shows the presence of some factors of physical risks, risks related to ergonomic conditions, psychosocial risks associated with public attention, monotonous work, work overload, and the development of several simultaneous tasks.
