Abstract

The isothermal curing process in diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A-based epoxy resin was investigated using an ultrasonic pulse spectroscopy technique. An aliphatic diamine (Diaminobutane) was used as a curing agent. The key point here was the difference in the curing processes of resins with identical composition cured at different temperatures. This was reflected clearly in the changing ultrasonic properties in resins and seemed to depend on the physical state of the resins. In addition, it was also made clear that resins could not be perfectly cured without high temperature curing.
