Abstract

At the annual conferences held in October, political parties unveiled their guidelines on the eve of the UK parliamentary elections, which should take place no later than January 2025. The components of electoral success are party unity, an attractive program, a charismatic leader capable of becoming a national figure. Analysis of the preliminary programs and ratings of the Conservative and Labour Parties shows that the ruling party has failed to reverse the steady trend of lagging behind the Labour Party in popularity among voters. Sociologists predict that the leading opposition party will win a majority in the House of Commons.
