Abstract

In the department of Huila, fish farming is a productive sector that is demonstrating its capacity for growth in productivity, investment and exports. According to the (Colombian Federation of Aqua culturists, 2017), fish production in the department covers 80.24% of national production, with more than 46,528 tons, which are represented by Tilapia (62%), Cachama (20%), Trout (15%), Native Species (3%). Currently, many of these companies, especially tilapia producers, thanks to the modernization of their machinery, the improvement of their processes, the implementation of technology, have managed to generate value for their product and competitiveness in the sector, leaving behind the producers of other species mentioned above. One of those lags is experienced by the trout farming sector, which, due to the specific conditions for its cultivation, presents lags in different logistical aspects.
