Abstract
Tribochemstry of Al 2O 3–TiC head-disk with lubricant FomblinZ-DOL and Krytox-AD containing–OH and CF 3 end group have been studied. Changes in friction coefficient have been observed during continuous sliding with Al 2O 3–TiC head during various run. The analysis of wear fragments with Mass spectrometer shows that decomposition of FomblinZ-DOL and Krytox-AD leads to formation of different ions and free radicals and it depends upon the nature of lubricants. It is suggested that FomblinZ-DOL lubricants is better than Krytox-AD.
