Abstract
Abstract The paper discusses some interdisciplinary, contextual and linguistic aspects of a new strategy for developing skills of the professional language. For their communication scientists use the academic language, involving standard word combinations and specific grammar structures. To efficiently use them in English, students should originally master the equivalent structures in their native language. The paper suggests some innovative ways of implementing the strategy. It emphasizes the significance of learning scientific discourse elements of both scientific Russian and scientific English, their specific syntax and morphology.
