AbstractThe article analyzes modern foreign and domestic machinery. The directions of development of snow cleaning railway machinery are studied. The technical and economic comparison of the most common domestic machines with the current development of Swedish engineers is given. The purpose of the research is to find the most technically and economically efficient technique for clearing snow and debris on the railroad runs and station tracks. Employees of the Siberian State University of Railway Transport have developed a new pneumatic cleaning machine for station track cleaning PMS-S and an automated control system for loading of SM and PSS type snow removal machines. The design of the PSM-S pneumatic snow-cleaning machine, its working principle, indicators and advantages over other equipment used on the Russian railroads are considered. The operation of the automated control system has shown irrational use of machinery, which indicates the need to revise regulations and change approaches in the planning and organization of work by snowplowing machines.
