Abstract

The available relevant experimental data on the neutron-induced (n, 2p) reactions, as well as the reaction cross-sections around 14 MeV neutron energy are reviewed for the interval of 11 ≤ Z ≤ 65. A new empirical expression for the (n, 2p) reaction cross-sections has been obtained by fitting the experimental values as a function of ( N − Z) and ( E n − E th ) 1 2 , where ( N − Z) is the neutron excess of the target nucleus, E n and E th are the incident neutron energy and the (n, 2p) threshold energy, respectively. It is seen that the empirical relation gives good fits with the experimental values.
