Abstract

A comprehensive review of the neutron-induced cross-sections for (n,/sup 3/He) reactions has been made for the interval of 14/spl les/Z/spl les/84 around 14 MeV neutron energy. For practical purposes, an empirical expression has been found by using the experimental (n,/sup 3/He) cross section values as a function of (N-Z) and (E/sub n/-E/sub th/) where (N-Z) is the neutron excess of the target nucleus, E/sub n/ and E/sub th/ are the incident neutron energy and the (n,/sup 3/He) threshold energy, respectively. The derived empirical relation gives a good fit with the experimental values.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
