Treatment of obstruction of lacrimal passage by closed vein detained probe tube

Abstract

Objective To discuss the treatment of closed vein detained probe tube for obstruction of lacrimal passage. Methods 107 cases of obstruction of lacrimal passage had been performed probing of lacrimal passage and inputting of closed vein detained probe tube, which maintained in lacrimal passage for 2-4 weeks. Results 82 cases(86 eyes) was cured (76.11%).23 cases ( 25 eyes) was improved, the total effective rate was 98.23% ;2 cases (2 eyes) ineffective. No recurrence observed during six months-two years follow-up. Conclusion Apply probing of lacimal passage and closed type vein detained probe tube to treat chronic obstruction of lacrimal passage is safe, simple and effective, with keeping normal physiology construction, economical,less pain.
