Abstract

Local Transmigration of Mekar Sari Village, Mesuji Regency 1982-1986. The local transmigration program is motivated by the fact that forest areas are natural resources that should be useful according to their functions, but have experienced many disturbances such as forest encroachment for settlements and as agricultural land so that they can damage forest functions. To overcome this problem, the government moved the residents to other areas or resettled the population (resettlement). The resettlement program is the background of the local transmigration program that took place in Mekar Sari village, Mesuji Regency in 1982-1986. Based on the description above, the formulation of the research problem is how the impact of local transmigration on the socio-economic conditions of the people of Mekar Sari Village, Mesuji Regency in 1982-1986?. This study aims to find out how the impact of local transmigration on the socio-economic conditions of the people of Mekar Sari Village, Mesuji Regency in 1982-1986. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques of literature, documentation, and interviews. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis technique. The results obtained by researchers regarding the Impact of Local Transmigration on the Socio-Economic Conditions of the Mekar Sari Village community, Mesuji Regency in 1982-1986, namely there was an impact on the Socio-Economic sub-sector which included the impact of varied types of work, the level of education slightly increased because there was one school in the UPT and has an affordable distance that is different from the area of origin before transmigration, economic activity has progressed slightly because people who used to work as laborers to work the land then after transmigration work on their own land that has been distributed by the government, and social activities have developed.
